aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters

Unfortunately, this dongle is not a qcc 3071.
3071 is currently not officially for sale in the prototype demo phase.

What chipset is used in BT-W4?

It seems that Creative's Japanese website has more information about the BT-W4:

https://jp.creative.com/p/speakers/creative-bt-w4

Just curious, how does Aptx Adaptive determine what is currently playing (Tidal, YouTube, Rocket League, Twitch etc.) and choose the right parameters for transmission?

Maybe a little off-topic, but I currently have Bowers & Wilkins Pi7 and there are some nasty compatibility/connection issues with the BT-W3.. ๐Ÿ˜

Itโ€™s up to you to provide the source, in terms of up to 24-bit/96KHz, then aptX Adaptive really just works on a best effort to distance basis. If you want best quality, then you need to have clear line of sight between transmitter and receiver and a super short distance For the max rate. Itโ€™s something like 3 metres maximum distance to retain max rate. Less distance equals more quality. No barriers including the human body.

actual specification of bt-w4 is 24bit 48kHz support. 24bit 96kHz is not supported.
I was just referring to aptX Adaptive. I donโ€™t think the BT-W4 is a good enough effort. Too little too late.

7fsyb6o should look at the KB8P or its USB-C cousin if you can pinpoint the 24-bit one.

What do you guys use on receiving end (in ear headphones with aptx adaptive)? I tried multiple qcc514x headphones, like BGVP M3, but the white noise, weird noises between songs... is making all them useless.
Qudelix-5K doesn't have many complains about this noise issue, but I'm looking for something that can do at least 16h.

I will update this with more later on my return and add my findings.

I tested it set to 24/48k then 24/96k to see if Amazon Music HD detected it correctly but right now, I have no earbuds that are aptX Adaptive 24/96k only 24/48 so I set it to 24/48k for my listening but probably will just use my FiiO's via LDAC.

The previous adapter was 16/48k.

Mine arrived today.

Yes it did go to 24/48 and I had to go out of my way to get it to 96KHz.

mtw3 supports aptX adaptive 24-bit 96kHz. How about amazon music hd output when connected via mtw3?

I was not sure the QCC3040 even did 24/96k I know the Dongle is 24/96k but assumed that was the USB side and the BT side was 24/48 so setting above that would be pointless unless you used the 3.5mm output with wired earbuds.

Amazon will detect the Dongles setting in the Windows Audio Settings no matter what the earbuds are even if using SBC so there is no way to confirm 24/96k is getting to the earbuds as you see above it is 24/96 using SoundPeats Sonic PRO's (I have H1 Premiums also) but I would guess they are both 24/48k max.

I am right now using the MTW3's (QCC3040) and the Dongle (also QCC3040) here are you saying they are support 24/96k without Snapdragon Sound but I thought it needed to be (QCC514x, QCC515x, or QCC3056 chipsets) for 24/96k Snapdragon Sound.

Moto Z2 Force/Android Pie.

PowerAmp 24/96k, (can do 24/192k on my wired earbuds).

Amazon Music HD which still cannot bypass Androids built in driver hard limit so normally 24/48k even if using LDAC and even on wired earbuds, but the DAC gets by this.

First test with 96k files then 44.1k files and it appears to auto match them.

I'm not even sure if the QCC3040 is 24/96k, I know the dongle is 24/96k, but I'm assuming the USB side and the BT side are 24/48, so the above settings are pointless unless you are using a 3.5mm output over the wire. earphone.

Amazon detects the dongle settings in the Windows audio settings whatever the earbuds are, even with SBC, so as you can see above, there is no way to ensure that 24/96k is reaching the earbuds. 24/96 using the SoundPeats Sonic PRO (there are H1 Premiums too) but both seem to be up to 24/48k.

I'm using MTW3 (QCC3040) and dongle (QCC3040) right now. It says 24/96k support without Snapdragon Sound here, but I thought it should be for 24/96k (QCC514x, QCC515x or QCC3056 chipset). Snapdragon Sound.

kb8,9p says the manufacturer supports 24-bit 96kHz, up to 427kbps, and the aptx adaptive codec originally supports 96khz. When Qualcomm announced the aptX adaptive codec in 2018, the aptX adaptive codec specification in the official pdf came out with a sampling frequency of 44.1 48.0 96.0 kHz and a maximum bitrate of 420 kbps. The qcc 3040 (before the Snapdragon Sound release) originally supported 96 kHz, but for some reason may have been limited to 48.0 kHz. I believe the answer is that they are preparing the qcc 3071 dongle for release. I heard that the MTW 3 is powered by the qcc 5151 chipset which supports Snapdragon Sound 24bit 96khz.

Ignore my above Android Amazon Music HD info above (I will test again later) as it was just the App reporting wrong again it still has the limit of 48k on Android but not sure how it showed 96k as never has before, i plugged in my wired earbuds and it still said 96k then I loaded up a 192k album and it then stated 48k so it must have been stuck reading the track quality for the device.
