Wow! Where did all this come from? The alleged manufacturer isn't even listing these. The old Baidu links still have the old versions.

That wasn't there last night. Cool.

So, the English translated Assistant isn't working. The Chinese version is. The English version says "no device".

I love that I can finally see the list of paired devices! :beerchug:

KB9P firmware upgrade seemed to go well but then it wouldn't talk to Windows, despite multiple reinsertions. I tested it with my iPhone and it's working fine. It is now being read by Assistant 2.0 Chinese.


The KB8P did not do anything on first attempt with the firmware updater. Every time I try running the 2.28 firmware on my KB8P with firmware v1.5, it just hangs at the stage where it would normally query the device version and display it. The KB8P is working as it normally would and showing in the Dongle Assistant v1.7. It just doesn't seem to want to talk to the firmware updater.

KB9P:

I ran the FW updater from its own folder, and it did it thing and sat at Verifying Image for ages so I went out to the shops and came back 1 hour later, and PC was messed up with many applications crashed so I had to reboot.

Can see it did not update so trying again.

EDIT: Updated near enough immediately the 2nd time, now v1.7 cannot see it and nor can KB8P Eng v2.01 see it but the Chi v 2.0.0 can see it so await translation.

Be nice if they added a 16bit 44.1k option like other dongles have.

Swapping the "hidapi.dll" around let me mess with the 2.0.1 in English but it does not see my Dongles Name only FW version but can see my Bluetooth devices for pairing.

It can see the Dongle just does not show its name (KB9P) but does show FW version in the GUI.

I hit Factory Reset and re-paired my Soundpeats H1 Prem's and it worked but the character's must be messed up due to Eng vs Chi.

Yes I can confirm you're right. I have labelled them correctly now. I can see this with the Chinese versions. Only the right adapter works with the right Chinese Assistant.

Only one of the download links from Baidu had a copy of the English version and it doesn't work with either the KB8P or KB9P. This would be explained by it being the KB8P-only version but I have been as yet unable to update the firmware of my KB8P.

Managed to connect to 2 pairs at same time (White LED) but names are long so you cannot see Codec sometimes.

Their need to be a way like in Windows and Android to rename your devices, Soundpeats Sonic Pro only needs be Sonic Pro then the Codec will fit next to it.

That does sound enticing but I bet I'll need to remortgage to get it at both end of the transmission.

I saw that Qualcomm has been talking up the 8 Gen 2 which has the 48kHz and lossless over LE, you mentioned, but also dynamic spatial audio to compete with Apple's. Which all sounds really nice but can I be ar$ed having to change my devices all over again!?! :sleeping: Why can't they just be nice and make the hardware platforms stable for a bit with firmware updates to add new features???

Got my KB8P updated to 2.28. I re-flashed it with v1.5 and then it took v2.28. Now the English KB8P Dongle Assistant 2.0 works with it.

I see mention of a "KBC" in the new dongle assistant. I'm guessing this is the same overall device but with USB-C? I'd be delighted to learn it's both USB-C and QCC3071 but I doubt I'll get that lucky,

Confirming: my KB8P is the USB-C set. It came with a sleeve that the KB8P goes in to and converts it to be USB-C.
