Am, I right in thinking I need a newer Firmware to go with the new Dongle Tool for the Mic to work fully just like with the KB8/P

I have the KB9P and I can check the Mic setting but it unchecks once I power off/on the Dongle and Mic does not do anything but is visible in Windows as it was before.

I don’t think there was any new firmware for the KB9P from the previous posts.

Nothing is showing in the official share links as per supplied documentation. I’ve been checking them. I can’t even find the original KB8/P firmware downloads anymore. They may have been withdrawn.

I don’t know if contacting the sellers or the apparent original file sharer (who could be the firmware author) would help.

Firstly, thanks for starting this thread on aptx-adaptive transmitters. It has been very helpful for me.

Regarding the mic issue, I think it's still work-in-progress for the dongles. Even the newer YET-T10P dongle still recommends to disable the mic from windows control panel (see attached manual, page 5). It sounded like 4khz-limited audio when I turned it on.

The YET-T10P claims to be driver-less (ie: seems to not work with dongle assistant). Other than that, it functions similar to KB9P in 24/96. Maybe a bit more bass-heavy than KB9P on the Edifier TW1 Pro. And similar range with stock antenna.

From what I read, the consoles seem to need thew 16bit version going by the sellers who actually give detailed information, you can see some I linked to with both 16bit and 24bit options of the same Dongle and it states the 16bit is needed for some consoles (i am not sure if only the PS5 as I do now own a console)

I noticed you mention in this thread about certain consoles not working but when I read the various listings you posted that still work and I could not see anything about compatibility issues with consoles, only Android TV devices.

That's why hopefully someone here has tried it on a ps4 or ps5 as I can not find any concrete information on this.

I linked to various Dongles and the sellers listing state to order the 16bit for the PS5 AFAIR (it may also have been Android TV), again I do not own and never will own a console, so it does not concern me so have not looked into it, the one bellow seems ok, but it is the newer QCC3056 whereas we have the QCC3040 based models.

Note,About the functional difference of each model:

---QCC3056 T10 16Bit:
Only Support 16Bit,Compatible with Android Box/Android TV.
(QCC3056 Chip,With Antenna,USB Input, Support Multi-point Connect (one for two), can connect 2 bluetooth earphones or bluetooth speakers at the same time.)

---QCC3056 T10P 24Bit:
Support 16-24Bit, But Not compatible with Part of Android Box/Android TV.
(QCC3056 Chip,With Antenna,USB Input, Support Multi-point Connect (one for two), can connect 2 bluetooth earphones or bluetooth speakers at the same time.)

Again, do not take my post as the gospel as I cannot remember all the details from all the Dongle listings, but some do mention something to do with the PS5/Consoles and why are posters here asking if there is no issue?

I am looking at getting a T10 or T10P but I am not sure which to get for the PS5.
Does anyone know if the PS5 supports the 24bit version or if I have to go with the 16bit version.I
Tested 2 units of T10P and they both work with PC/Win10 and Nvidia Shield (2017).
Both connected to Edifier TWS1 Pro (also 2 units) with aptx adaptive.
24/96 is available on WIn10, but not sure about Nvidia as I don't know how to check that status.

^^ Install PowerAmp (may still need sideloaded) and you can see the info in the settings for the output, that is how I confirmed aptX was working after Nvidia recently added it.
Thanks.
As it is, the TWS1 pro/T10P combo's sound quality is already killing it.
My previous TV-watching Neobuds Pro's SQ on LDAC simply can't hold a candle to it.
The aptx adaptive LEDs lights up on the dongle, and that's good enough for now.

That only confirms the connection between the Dongle and earbuds, it could be 16bit (USB) as if you read above you can see there may be some limitation with Android TV but then why would LDAC 24/96 work (rhetorical).

Ok I just tested, and the default settings it will be using the Java based Codec and it will be 16/96, changing one of settings to disable Dithering will result in 24/96 BUT I opted to enable the Experimental High-RES Codec (the same as on my phone) and it is 24/96 without disabling that setting.

The Neobuds Pro connects to Nvidia Shield's internal BT via LDAC. The TWS1 Pro connects to T10P USB dongle via aptx adaptive. I have not checked either connection's bit depth and transfer rates. But happy with the cleaner SQ of the TW1 Pro on aptx adaptive for movie-watching.

LDAC's will be 24/96 out the box without any messing about and is supported by the Shield for a long time now, I tested that long ago on my first LDAC ear/headphones.

I would assume most movies should be 24bit audio as even old DVD (SD) was 24bit audio AFAIR so right now your Shield using the Dongles may be 16/96 like on my KB8P before I changed the settings and in an ideal world you set the dongle USB side to the same as the audio (example 24/48), so it is not upsampled/downsampled if the software media player support this.
