I own the AP-60 MkII. If it's as good or better... this will be a great DAP.

I also prefer Hidizs over Shanling. And I also own AP60II which is a great small DAP and becomes a perferct choise if using together with Hidizs DH1000. Let's wait and see what price would Hidizs declare for AP80.

Did they state what the dimensions of this dap would be? I used the Shanling MO at CanJam SoCal and it was as small as a fat watch. It also worked flawlessly. This dap has got to be on par with that one to have as much buzz. FM? That’s interesting.

Not yet. Waiting for further info from Hidizs. I'd post here ASAP.

I am more into the newly introduced jog dial. Knowing HiByOS it should be very handy type control.

This was very fast from Hidizs. Just got the new info about the dimensions: 58 x49 x 13 mm
I would put it in head topic as well

The dimensions on the Shanling M1 (50 × 13 × 60mm) almost identical to the AP80, if the 58 x49 x 13 mm are true.

I really like the sound off my AP200 but the lack of firmware support is killing a great DAP. I'm hoping when this comes out I can replace my M1, but I'll probably be picking up the M0 anyway to replace the M1 for my work DAP. Lol

HiByOS in AP60II, proprietary FW in AP100 and as would, probably, HiByOS in AP80 do very good job and positively differ from Android-based FW. Soundwise AP200 is a great DAP and comes much closer to ultimate sound quality of Hidizs Sonata DH1000 amp|DAC than any other member of family lineup... but there are still some flaws left to eliminte. Personally, my AP200 unit works fine. I only use it as a DAP with HiBy Music and don't deal with playlists, etc. But I also understand stuggle of others when it comes to additional functionality.
AP60II is flawless, as well as AP100 and DH1000. AP80 should behave the same with this right choice of FW. We'll see.
