QFT. When I sell stuff I always go for the person who pm's first, I don't even check the thread unless I need to "bump" it.

I feel bad.

I haven't been screwed, but today I shipped some DVDs to a fellow head-fier and I just noticed I still have one of the movies I was supposed to ship with the others today.

I will obviously get the movie to him, but it kinda looks bad on my part, and being my first transaction so far, it might reflect badly on me.

Unless the seller indicated otherwise in the for sale post, like Fitz says, replying to the for sale thread counts for nothing. I almost never do the "ygpm" replies and simply send a PM. Sometimes, I noticed that people reply with the "ygpm" posts a few hours after I've already sent my PM.

also if you really are interested in an item it is preferable to respond only by pm and not in the thread, as all it does is bump the thread to the top where someone can see it and say hey i want that too.

Man, selling your reputation on a site like this (and paypal) for 25 bucks. That guy probably lives among empty chip bags and pizza boxes.

i come from places where it's a very common practice to send PM and post an "i'll take it" in the thread ya know just a good way of letting other people know that there are already offers out there on the item

also i believe it may have been here though i could possibly be wrong... a seller who after sending me the paypal info sold them to some other guy because he lived closer... at least the money was refunded and i found something a little better for almost the same price so the sting from that one was quickly taken away

It's one thing when it's a new member with low post count, but when it's someone who is seemingly protected, you must end up feeling more than a little violated.

The only problems I've ever had here are sellers getting shady about price and then suddenly backing out, or just not replying - things that tell you not to buy from this person even if they wanted to sell to you. Otherwise every transaction has been smooth.

not that i give a rip what you think little girl, but banned for speaking my mind???? wow its obvious you dont live in the United States of America. we have freedom of speech over here, maybe you dont. do a search on my posts and just take a look for all this "scum" you speak of..... get a life. the ignore feature is always a good thing honey........

incidences all together just as we describe. He believes its Canadian customs helping themselves to whats inside and passing along the empty shipping carton.

Personally I don't trust EITHER, american or canadian customs.

Weird- the only item (might be items still waiting to find out) I've had lost or stolen in shipping were going to Canada. Delivery times seem really spotty too- 1 month to British Columbia from Washington State.

Did the scammer say something?

I'm from Charleston, SC, born and raised, jackass.

Go and rectify your scams before addressing those of us who are legit.

All that may be true Paul but you're clearly not a man of your word. I still have the message you sent me assuring me that if I was not able to have the player repaired you would refund my money. Well, here I am waiting for the return of my "palty sum" which you so casually dismiss. I hope no one who's trapped in a burning building has to be the victim of your casual morality when you decide once again that it's easier for you to not do the right thing.

And I don't "seem to be a nice guy", all anyone who wants to know what I'm about has to do is look at my record of feedback here or speak with anyone that's met me at a meet.

Its always awesome when a scammer comes right into a thread to do a long drawn out non-explanation of their scams. The longer you talk the guiltier you look. A guy I grew up with used to scam people all the time, and "Pauls" little rant looked so much like this guys rants I used to hear its ridiculous. "Ive got kids, Ive got a good job, I dont need to rip people off." Meanwhile he'd admit it to some of us who were standing right there. So utterly transparent. A note to scammers: Explaining yourself into the ground makes you look more guilty.*alert tone*
