Anyone here ever get screwed on a deal?

I actually never got screwed. I've actually had amazing experiences here. Once I ordered an ALO interconnect from a fellow head-fier and it got "lost in transit" aka either the american or canadian postal service stole it. The head-fier sent me my money back asap and apologized about the inconvenience. It wasnt his fault nor mine but he took full responsibility.

Also, I bought a USB DAC recently and it didnt work well with my comp so the seller traded me the USB dac with another one that he had.

Just great experiences!

If he hasn't responded, I suggest you escalate the PayPal dispute RIGHT NOW. It is very easy for scamming sellers to empty out their account and sever all ties to PayPal, and PayPal will not do a thing to get your money back. The only reason I didn't lose money to my scammer was because I called my bank and they did a Visa charge back.

This is the same guy who acted proud to be collecting unemployment and using it primarily for luxury purchases, right?

Just curious, how did you know what place in line you were in? Did the seller tell you?

Yes... sort of.

A very generous Canadian member gave me his Ety shirt clip... free of charge. Someone in either US customs or Canadian customs decided to keep it for themself.

So... I just got an empty padded envelope.

I had a same case. I bought some vintage camera filters from a seller in Canada, and received an empty envelope...

It's actually an evil bay transaction, not Head-Fi.

How do you know who sent a PM first? Posting in the thread counts for nothing.

Basically in life: You win some, you lose some.

I have had a few hundred dollars stolen from me a few years ago but at the same time, I've been blessed with some good financial yieldings. ya win some, ya lose some.

Overall, I'm satisfied with my transactions. I think, arguably, the real thieves are the interest rates of credit card companies but that's another thread.
