Any old fart head-fi'ers still around?

I dusted off my KSC-35’s last weekend, had to peel away the disintegrated foam and install some new ones… They still sounded great

The KSC-35s got me started in this hobby when I was 18 and trying to figure out what to do with a roommate who talked to himself all the time. I still think they are the only headphone I'd keep on a deserted island.
I just received a Cayin C9, Sennheiser IE900 to go with my Audeze LCD-3 and Hiby R8. Lots of dollars later and with so little time to actually listen to my music, I definitely feel like I miss the good old days.

Big thank you to @Joe Bloggs for showing me this thread!

I'm kind of shocked to learn that I just had my 20-year head-fi anniversary in november! I ended up keeping an Auralic Gemini and Grado PS-1000's simply because the combo not only sounds great together, but also looks great together which obliterates the temptation to upgrade, which is more of a feature than a bug.

Happy holidays everyone! I fired up the darth Grados over the holidays visiting my folks and darn it one of the connector wires shorts out a bit. Crazy that it does that when I don’t touch it for months! Well it still sounded great when I kept my head still ha, but someday I’ll definitely get that fixed, hopefully it won’t require a total recable.

Edit- wow my signature is just a mess of broken links, so sad, it’s like my darth Grados, broken due to neglect.

If any of you old farts still have an interest, you might look into IEMs. Many of us of advanced age have hearing loss problems.
I myself have better hearing in one ear than the other. DAPS (digital audio players) all seem to have balance adjustment to even out the sound.
Try it and you might get back in the game.

Haha probably just like my old Geocities and Angelfire websites wherever those ended up in the web ether. "Sign my guestbook!"

Good to see yah on here Jahn. Purk, Trevor and Claud, you too. Tim, congrats on the milestone. Happy Holidays to everyone.

I'm still using my 25 year old Sennheiser HD580 with the Equinox cable, the first aftermarket cable available for it. Technology moves forward, but not by leaps and bounds.

Happy holidays, everyone.

Truth! Funny how some cable mfrs are now charging $4 or $5k for an IEM cable. Cough cough….Effect Audio.

It's like any other time in history: there is a sucker born every day.
