I'm watching Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei following a recomendation made a few posts ago and I'd like to recommend: "Yakite Japan!" which is a hilarious anime about bread-making. Very recomended!

Hi, I saw this on a streaming site, so I will remove the name of the site from there:

"Hi ***********ers!!

I have some exciting news! Recently, the anime company Gonzo/GDH (they've made some really awesome titles like Last Exile, Vandread, and Full Metal Panic!!) messaged me. The popularity of ** and our community has really impressed them. We've been trading ideas about what we can do together so everyone will benefit. I know there has been some fan frustration with the approach the anime industry has taken to the internet and fansubbing, but after talking a lot to GDH, I feel that they are definitely listening and doing their best to give fans what they want. With all of your help and support, I think we can convince a lot of ppl that ** is the perfect place to reach out to fans ^_^

I can't say what the plan will be yet cuz its still being finalized, but its going to be very new and cool~! Gonzo sent me a bunch of really cool gifts as well!! I took a few photos to share with you guys cuz its really making me excited!"

Well, I think this is cool and finally a good step toward admitting that official products are in fact...really bad and that fans don't enjoy dubs or bad subs and that there might be something more to do than blame torrenters!

I'm currently watching Persona: Trinity Soul on youtube. For those that have played the games, the series seems to draw from the same themes but doesn't feature the same characters (At least so far). According to the wiki, it's taking place ten years after the events from Persona 3. The fansubs are up to episode 11 of this 26 episode series. I'm not sure if it's exciting enough for people who aren't already a fan of the game, but it's certainly got it's share of intrigue and mystery.

so... a whole bunch of shows recently ended or is about to finish. As far as my interest is concerned:

Hayate no Gotoku! (just saw the finale, eps52 - class of its own all thrughout)
CLANNAD (was over last week, I am waiting on the HD ver though)
Shigofumi (a bit weak ending, some eps were ho-hum, while there were gems like eps6)
Spice and Wolf (an immensely popular light novel, and rightfully so. the anime does justice to the original, though they could have made this longer)
ARIA the Origination (got just 1 more to go; heard some extremely positive remarks about the manga's ending, hope HAL can deliver)
True Tears (arguably the highest quality of drawing, felt a bit too deliberate and distant with philosophical crappola though IMO)
and last but not least, H2O (WOW)

If I had to name one show of the season though (or final eps of the month, forthat matter), my hat goes off to H2O. Admittedely, it dips dangerously low in quality at certain points, too many coincidents can be annoying to inquisitive minds, it definitely aint about Kyoani or Shaft-like completeness; in fact it would come nowhere near beating out Wofl or TT in sheer quality. Where the show shines is pure drama it packs, along with soothing BGM that blends in perfectly. What a hell of emotinal rollercoaster it was, glad it finished strong. By far one of the best endings I have seen in a while.

I've been watching Minami-ke (now the 2nd season) and it's pretty entertaining, almost mirrors my sister and I, haha. Maybe why I like it so much.

now, mind if I ask which of the sisters do you and her resemble

I wouldnt have stigmatized the show so badly, hadnt I seen the prequel to it. Okawari is hardly the worst show I have seen in a long time, just that it simply doesnt do what the original (or the earlier) Minami-ke did it for me. Still <3 Kana-tan though.

Shuffle - Shuffle is based off of a dating sim, with the typical house of girls all fawning over a single indecisive guy. Included is the variety of peppy, traditional, young, etc. etc. girls. Many of the episodes center around a pseudo-date with one of the characters. Think Sister Princess with a few less characters. Normally I don't mind this stuff as mindless fluff after a long day of work when I don't want to think, but the protagonist in this one seems so lame, giving in to whatever is going on around him and not exhibiting much character.

Agreed wholeheartedly, didnt care for it much at all, rather found it annoying for the most part... EXCEPT Kaede's arc (eps19-21; yes, it is where the infamous empty-pot-stirring yandere scene comes from) gets two thumbs up from me. I swear, it really isnt just becauze I am a big time kaede fan

(dunno what I was thinking when I was writing this, I am all for kaede)

Welcome to the NHK - I saw an early part of the series which seems pretty comedic, however I understand that it gets pretty serious and depressing in the end, so I don't know that I'll pursue it.

The show pretty much depicts how low an individual can go, touches on just about every type of traps and ensuing misery hikikomoris are prone to run into. The depressing end culminates in an epic climax, and ends on a positive note, however. I felt better after sitting through the entire series, so I suggest that you do the same. The show truly is great as they make it out to be - Gonzo gained Tons more respect from me, about the only show from them I thoroughly enjoyed (other than Narue no Sekai, maybe).

Just finished up Kannazuki no Miko from the now defunct Geneon. Overall a good series worth watching imho.

There are two types of Kannazuki no Miko junikes out there: diehard Kaishaku fans, and Miya-sama fans (I belong in the latter group btw

) To say the show is a bit on the awkward side is a huge understatement; I consider it one of those shows that you dont feel comfortable recommending to people that dont get too excited by yuri romance. I loved it though.

I personally like the show and try to follow it the best I can, but the amount of parodies thrown in there is just waaaay too overwhelming. Before each eps, I do my hw and read up on some parody clues before I get started. Even then, its not something I would watch at dinner time, as I would need undevided attantion to be able to absorb everything they are dishing out. Some object to this type of "only the l337 cream of the crop can follow us" type of in-jokes/parodies, while others seem to get ticked off by a few political references. Whatever, I say just enjoy the damn show.

I just finished Lucky Star. I loved how the anime reminded my of Azumanga Daioh, and I think I'll just go and re-watch it before moving on to a new series.

Ever seen sensei no ojikan? I think that one would be a closer match to lucky star than azumanga daiou is.

I started watching the classic 'Evangelion' series, I couldn't stop at one so I rented the whole series at Blockbusters'. I also watched GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka): very funny! It's too bad they didn't have the entire series though. Alot of money at retail stores if purchased new!

Thanks for the Sister Princess recommendation HiFLYiN9! My sister found a friend of hers who has the collection and has just borrowed it. She's loving it so far and I've asked her to borrow it out until I get home to go through it.

Man, I'm going to have an anime-heavy time off when I get back home--I'll have to try this anime as well and still somehow get through enough of Shrine of the Morning Mist to tell my sister how it is (she bought it herself, but still hasn't gotten through it). If it's anything like Lucky Star, I think I'm gonna like it off the bat.

When I watch that show I just let my mind go numb and even then at the end of the episode I just feel like I have been mind screwed. It is just one of those things that I like just letting everything go over my head and then just appreciate how dumb it is. Too bad there isnt a good group keeping up with it to well.

Speaking of keeping up with shows, I have been waiting for more shion no oh for a while now. Someone better pick up the left over pieces of the series. That is probably the only show in the past season that I got into. Besides honey and clover live action. haha. Honest.

Just found out about Garakuta-dori no Stain (GaraKuTa: Mr. Stain on Junk Alley) today. It's comprised of several shorts (roughly ~6 minutes each) mainly about Mr. Stain and Palvan.

here's one as an introduction.
YouTube - Mr.Stain on junk Alley #02 Refrigerator

It's really funny, and doesn't take much time to watch.
