Android phones and USB DACs

Hi anyone that have heard a difference from the note 2 and note 3 in audio quality with out a external dac?

And if so how big of an improvement is it?

And... can we play 24/96 out of a Note 3 to an external DAC Without downsampling, and without using Recorder PRO ?  In this case, which player can be used ? ( I need a player with  a "real" UI and play list support)

In my opinion about note2, s3 and note 3 usb dac I like more s3 and note3 usb dac output.
Note 2 don't have the same good and clean sound present in s3 or note3 in usb output.
Regarding the headphone output I like more the note 3.
Imho ...

Ciao

LG G2
I apologize if this has been mentioned, but with a superficial browse of the thread I cannot find it. My LG G2 the international version (80210a european version) works out of the box with Fiio E17, and also with my Hegel HD2 ( with an external power supply) using an OTG cable. I have tried wimp and the built in music player.

Thanks!

I'm wondering if the LG G2 can output high resolution audio stream to an external USB DAC without using USB Audio Recorder PRO like the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

The Galaxy Note 3 can!

24/96 music file > stock Galaxy Note 3 music player / Google Play Music player running on Galaxy Note 3 > 24/96 USB audio PCM >> 24/96 capable FiiO E17

i feel now completely lost

I have an xperia z ultra rooted, can i play 24/192 or not

can someone please to tell me with my phone what should i chase the dac or the amp to listen to music on my car stereo,

I thought about buing the Ak10 but now i am confused because someone said that android phones can't play 24/192 and the song get downsized in quality by default so there is no use of using an ext usb dac

wish things like this don't always get newbies so confused.

Kindly please recommend the best way to enjoy songs from the xperia z ultra on my car stereo, what should i buy please help

The Sony Xperia Z Ultra using the USB Audio Recorder PRO app, available on Google Play store, can play 24/192 music files and output 24/192 USB audio PCM to a 24/192 capable USB DAC.

The Xperia Z Ultra can work with a FiiO E17 which requires 500 mA at the setup of the USB audio connection.

As 500 mA is the maximum current a USB DAC can draw from a USB host like the Xperia Z Ultra, the Xperia Z Ultra using USB Audio Recorder PRO could work with any USB DAC listed at the following link:

I haven't tested it with the microstreamer, but if one audio device works with an Android device, then usually all known-to-work audio devices work on that Android device as well.

It seems I read that the DAC and the amp of the FiiO E18 are better.

The FiiO E17 is a bus-powered USB DAC: it draws power from the phone.
The FiiO E18 is a self-powered USB DAC: it draws power from its battery.

The FiiO E18 has a line out port:
Xperia Z Ultra >> USB OTG cable >> FiiO E18 USB DAC > line out port >> analog cable >> aux in > car stereo amp >> speakers

A FiiO L7 lineout kit should be added in order to use the FiiO E17 as a separate USB DAC:
http://www.fiio.com.cn/products/index.aspx?ID=100000035228125&MenuID=105026009
Xperia Z Ultra >> USB OTG cable >> L7 USB in > FiiO E18 USB DAC > L7 line out >> analog cable >> aux in > car stereo amp >> speakers

I am wondering if it is more proper to use a cheap USB sound card in a car in motion environment (i.e. a lot of noises):

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=usb+otg+adapter&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Ausb+otg+adapter
Xperia Z Ultra >> USB OTG adapter >> cheap USB sound card based on C-Media chipset >> analog cable >> aux in > car stereo amp >> speakers

Samsung Note 2 snapdragon (4G) is not working with the Dacport LX, where as the exynos is!

After some early testing between the exynos and the snapdragon, I find the exynos is better then the snapdragon in SQ.
Note3.

3 questions about Sony xperia Z (the smartphone, not the ultra, not the tablet and not the z1) and Fiio E17 (500mA)

  • does it work with Fiio E17 without hub? (the only video I found was using hub but there was a floppy disk connected too xD http://www.head-fi.org/t/595071/android-phones-and-usb-dacs/1725#post_9177284 )
  • uarp is required or it works with all players?
  • 24bits only with uarp, right?

update:
Samsung Note 3 snapdragon works with Dacport LX , only when using Google Music player!!!

That makes me conclude that google is really using a separate kernel for USB in its player, as per UARP.

The least favorable player!!

Another update : if you leave the google play music player running in the background, all other players will work!
Neutron , Poweramp Player Pro, Samsung player.
