That case is an Urban Armor Gear case.  My friend and I both have it for our Galaxy S3s and my other friend has one for his iPhone 5.  It's a nice compromise for protection without the bulk of the full Otterbox Defender case.  Now I gotta look for that Scotch sticky tape for my E17.

If you've got LTE you actually need far less local storage? My music library is close to 1TB and it's all as good as stored on my 32GB Nexus 5. I run an FTP on my NAS -- or if you don't have a NAS most half-decent routers support FTP access to a USB attached HDD -- forward port 21 from WAN (my ISP provides me a static IP / hostname but you can use a free DynDNS/No-IP for convenience), and I can download whatever music I want straight to my phone with ES File Explorer wherever I am. On LTE I get around 2MB/s while on a moving train. WiFi over WAN I can hit 5MB/s+

Another advantage is never needing to plug my phone into my PC to transfer music. Forget microSD and paying extortionate prices for additional internal flash storage - private cloud is the future

I'm really not interested in streaming. Too often I'm in spotty or no-service areas. Also Time Warner throttles my connection any time there are sustained uploads.

And, I still maintain an ITunes Match subscription, anywhere I'd have a good connection and my computer, I'd have access to the whole collection anyway.

Goal here is to have the whole library on the phone.

Would this cable work for connecting my phone to a Fiio E17?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-USB-male-Micro-USB-Male-data-charger-cable-10cm-/120718382619

Its the right price and length, but it's listed as a "charging cable"

I'm having a helluva hard time finding a Micro - to - Mini.... I seem to remember reading somewhere that if its not OTG, it wont work.

  Hello
Has anyone succeded in connecting an FiiO E18 to an Android phone (4.1.2). I have Neutron and USB Audio Player Pro installed but no connection established between phone and DAC ?
Patrice

You're sure you have the right cable (data + power) not just a charging cable?

Have an Xperia Z (4.1.2 then) and an M2tech Hiface DAC and it works.

When it was 4.1.2 was using USB Recorder Pro. When I connect the unit it will say "usb device initialized" something like that..
