Has anyone connected an Android to a Schiit Modi? I thought a standard micro USB to USB B cable would work, but Schiit's website mentions that a powered USB hub is needed.
Any suggestions?
@shuto77- The Modi can work with Android [notwithstanding the fact that not every DAC works with every Android device]. You will need a USB OTG cable that ends with a standard 'female' USB socket, you then plug an externally powered USB into that and the Modi into the hub. The Modi draws too much power so needs to be powered.
I had it working with a Samsung Galaxy S5 and Moto G (3rd Gen).
shuto77 - the standard Modi is USB only, the Modi Uber has AC (sounds like you have that one), I only tried with standard USB version so Uber may work without a powered hub. Won't hurt to give it a go without the hub and see what happens. Don't forget to get high-res you'll need UAPP or something that will send a signal direct to the DAC.
