Yup, lots of OTG USB Male to Female but a decent quality Male to Male, angled so that a FiiO + cable doesn't take up any extra 2" in the pocket?

Trying to find mini-double facing suction caps...  Not easy either.

Fundamentally, I just wish FiiO would make a product that worked, without compromise, for people like me - or that Samsung would either go back to Wolfson DACs or start using Burr Brown DACs.

I mentioned earlier the Schiit Fulla is not working on its own via OTG (even with the Note 4, which outputs enough to run portable drives of large capacity). Just dropping confirmation that it does work with a powered USB hub, although that's obviously not much good for the use-case here with phones acting as portable transports.

Can you guys please name a few 7" android tablets with a microSD card slot that work with Geek Out 1000 and some other portable DACs such as iBasso D42?
I found an 8" tablet to be too big for my need. I just want to use it for UAPP and kindle.

Please help!

Not Android, but 7" and, with Windows8, you should not have compatibility issues, and can use JRiver.

Sweet!

This is what I've been looking for. Where can I buy this? how big is its internal storage??
I can't find much info about this unit yet.

This tablet costs $1,500 minimum. 256GB one is about $2,700. I'd rather buy an AK240.

Is there any 7" tablet which has a microSD slot and works with UAPP and Geek Out?

As UAPP, the best sounding music player to my ears (HibyMusic is another one), has also the best USB audio implementation (best compatible with USB DAC) for the time being, it should be difficult to find an Android tablet designed in recent years which is not compatible with UAPP:

. 7" Cdiscount-Haier Cdisplay with microSD card slot, the cheapest tablet marketed in France, & UAPP: DSD, hires audio

. $40 7" Azpen A700 tablet with microSD card slot & UARP/UAPP:

These two units are interesting. How can I buy that Cdisplay tablet in U.S.?
Does it work with Geek Out?

I have Nexus 7 and iBasso's D55. They work, however you need to reboot a lot in order to make them work properly. Sometimes, it takes quite long. I wouldn't recommend anyone to use Nexus 7 for UAPP.

Azpen A700 has only 3 hours of battery life. It's practically useless for UAPP. You will get max two hours with a battery-draining DAC.

Do you know any other 7" tablet which works with UAPP & Geek Out?
So far, Cdisplay tablette 7" looks like the best deal. It has all same feature as Nexus 7 and a microSD card slot + 4,000mAh battery.

Thanks!

I don't know if the Cdiscount Cdisplay can be delivered to the U.S.

Devices marketed in France are expensive:
. Cdisplay: €50 including taxes

. iPhone 6 Plus 128 Go in France: €1019 including taxes

. iPhone 6 Plus 128 Go in U.S.: US$949

The USB audio soft driver of UAPP can drive the Geek Out 1000.
So any Android device using UAPP can work with the Geek Out 1000 if:
. it has a functional USB host feature with isochronous transfer mode required by USB Audio Class devices
. it can provide 500mA (max power required by USB Audio Class devices) to the Geek Out 1000 (if it can't, then use an external power supply).

Azpen A700 has only 3 hours of battery life. It's practically useless for UAPP. You will get max two hours with a battery-draining DAC.

Then use an external battery pack:

. via Y cable:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=otg+y+cable&tag=amazonsearchshop-20

" Ordinary Y cable draws power from both sources. So even with a battery pack, your DAC/Amp still draws power from your Source.
So what I did I have a standard Y cable with one connecter covered its 5V pin (see red vinyl tape)."

" And hook up a Delock 65296 adapter to Source (Smatrphone/Tablet)"
http://www.head-fi.org/t/677263/light-harmonic-geek/1350#post_11078202

. via Y cable from Elijah Audio:
http://www.head-fi.org/t/595071/android-phones-and-usb-dacs/5280#post_10834766

"New range of Android Smart phone cables with Battery leads
Conductors - Mundorf 0.5mm Silver/Gold wire
Connected to S4 and HRT Microstreamer ( Mini USB plug)
USB "B" plug ( for Herus, etc..)
USB "A" female Socket ( LH Geek Out, Dragonfly, M2tech DAC, etc.)
Available soon.............."

I am pretty sure you can buy such an equivalent tablet in U.S. for less.
There is a 99% chance that a USB host-featured tablet designed in recent years is compatible with UAPP, and with Geek Out 1000.
If it is not compatible, just bring it back as return policies are very flexible in U.S..

There are some 7 inch windows 8 tablets around, such as the HP stream 7 (no experience with it). But you have to figure out if they meet your requirements, they are typically low end.

Just to update you on my USB audio journey:

Upgraded my Nexus 5 to 5.01.

Bought a HiFiMe USB DAC Android version.

Have a powered USB hub with the DAC and a USB drive attached.

Nexus 5 (5.01) > OTG y-cable (12v socket to USB 5v power attached) > powered/unpowered USB Hub > HiFiMe Dac> (analogue) to car stereo EXT IN.

The issue I'm having is that any time the Y-cable is plugged in the Nexus 5 stops displaying the charging icon, even if charging. This is the same using QI charging, 12v-5v on the Y-cable, battery pack on the Y-cable.

I need to stop the phones 5v reaching the Hub I guess, but I'd really prefer to see a charging symbol when it is actually charging. I guess the phone just assumes it is powering stuff when an OTG cable is inserted (even if nothing is attached).
