Hey guys i purchased the SS about 3 months ago, and totally enjoyed it! However i lately found out that sometimes with i have a headphone plugged in and touch the volume control, there'll be a noise coming out of the right driver, is this normal? I'm new to the tube world, still a lot more to learn haha

@cpzzy, have had it myself - could be a groundissue , or caused by a bad tube. Even when tubes are new (reproduction! it's worth replacing stock tubes by some NOS types...

  I am using a pair of Jan Philips 6V6GT's. Best I have found so far.
 

 
These are what I've gone back to now. The trick I've found is getting the right combination of 6SN7 and 6V6GT.

I've never listened to a WA6SE, but I'm using utopian w/ ST6 and it's such a sonic bliss, the ST6 really is magic with the neutral sounding utopia

Most of owners here have black or silver?
Read all of the rave reviews online and seeing in utube made my eyes popping for tubes glowing.
Also, can I use other phono preamp or stage into this beast and hear vinyls?

Black for me. And I believe ALO makes their own phono preamp for the Studio Six though I don't see why any wouldn't do

Agreed it was the best headphone pairing I've yet tried with my studio six. Just wish it didn't cost 4k

Just out of curiosity, is there any hum when using the utopia for you guys? I'm getting some hum when music is not played, wondering if this is normal or not, it bothers me although it sounds amazing when music is played

I have a black ST6. I also have the Phono Stage that I use with my VPI Scout 1.1 and Dynavector 10X5. It is a beautiful combination.You could certainly use another Phono stage via any of the 3 inputs.

I just want to know if I want a silver to match with my silver Esoteric K05 or a black color later. Now, it's time to save the fund.
I am not sure if I want to use my VPI Classic I + AR SP15/MC MA5300 as PA to plug into SS6 upstair or leave it downstair for the 2 channel system.
