Finally got around to ordering a pair of MS1e. These things are fantastic for the price. So much better than my old SR60i. Punchier bass, bolder mids, more detail, just a great well rounded headphone. I still love my PS500's but these things come close. Very satisfied.

I sent an email to George Alessandro about a new MS1 based on Grado's new X series with the 44mm drivers and he says it's in the works and will be posted on the website when it's ready.

I have this headset since yesterday and it sounds great, do you have any advice to improve the sound and maybe make it sweeter? maybe you suggest me an equalization that makes the sound of the ms1 more balanced.
^^ Since the "X" versions are brand new, You are probably one of the very few (out side of the company) who have had the opportunity to hear it.
BTW--which model did you get?

I set the gain of my UAPP player to -12 and the EQ 2k -1.5 and increased the first 2 bass bands to +2 and the result is magnificent, give it a try.

I have an ms1 and I like it, should I also take a ms pro for rock listening but not tiring?
To repeat from late last month: "Since the "X" versions are brand new, You are probably one of the very few (out side of the company) who have had the opportunity to hear it."
I have a Alessandro Music Series Two-X that is now on back order for nearly three weeks. George said that they will probably ship about two weeks from now. I expect this is the same for the MS-Pro. In past versions, Allesandros reduced brightness from their Grado equivalents.
Be aware that unlike the Music Series cans (which are derived from Grado SR cans), the Pro is based on the Grado RS line. The sound signatures of those two Grado lines are quite different. That said, I like the older versions of the Pro for (now classic) rock and electric blues.
