AKG's new K872?

I happen to have a Moon Audio Black Dragon V2 which I could have reterminated for LEMO. The cable currently has a Y splitter (3 wires in each end). When cutting off the Y splitter section it would be a 6 wired cable.
1) Will this cable fit a 3-pin jack for AKG K-872?
2) Where to order a matching 3-pin LEMO jack plug and what's the exact part number?
3) What's the best way to solder the jack to the Moon Black Dragon V2?

It's important to point out that unless the K872 is reterminated to dual entry, you're still going through whatever wire is connecting the channels. Knowing this, I'd probably try to spend less. Just FYI

Does anyone with the 872s also own Beyerdynamics (T5p.1 / .2)? I'd be curious to know how they differ in signature.

Thanks in advance for any info

Beyer T1.1 stock from the early series (10xx) here. Is that the comparison you're looking for? Mind you there are different batches from T1.1 and comparison - even on the same rig - isn't an easy task without SPL considering the 600Ohm open back vs 36Ohm impedance easy to drive closed back AKGs. Any specific tracks/genre?

Exactly. There isn't a dual entry. The hinges and frames seem user replaceable, but unless AKG is going to sell replacement right side hinges with entry point for DIY or aftermarket dual/balanced LEMO I don't see this happen.

My Black Dragon cable is sitting here eating dust so I might as well try to have it reterminated in SE with LEMO and see if it'll improve anything over the AKG stock. Any help on that (see questions above regarding jack plug and soldering method) would be highly appreciated.

That is great. Now with the part number I can find it to buy at several places $21 is the cheapest so far. Thanks a lot for this as I need a shorter cable so now I can make my own.

Please be advised, the datasheet you're using is the jack plug without strain relief. I will upload the exact datasheet with additional datasheet of the strain relief in a minute.

Thank you for volunteering your feedback; while any would be appreciated, even with the 1.1s, I was aiming for the T5ps as they are 32ohms and closed, making it possibly an interesting A/B pair
