If there’s anyone from the UK lurking here & considering a pair of these, then now might be the time to bite - AKG are offering a whopping 25% discount (nearly £200 off) until August 20th 2018.

Anyone have the Atlas and the N5005 to compare?
Well, I don't have the Atlas but I am expecting my first set of Campfire Audios to arrive any day now, Lyra II.
Purely from an aesthetic standpoint I prefer the N5005 over the hair-dryer looking Atlas.

Am I the first to have this issue?? It came off to easy. Right earpiece is just fine. I’m not sure if I can glue the part back because of some sticky substance on the small tube.

Ruh-roh! McCol reported this issue way back in this thread. Very disconcerting.

My N5005's will need to go back for an exchange. Whilst taking a tip off the nozzle came away from the body of the earphone. AKG in the process of sorting a return hopefully.

Hopefully a one-off but be careful changing those tips!!!

Have to say that N5005 and K3003 are heading towards totally different directions.

K3003 tries to stay objective towards various genres and keeps controlled, basically by tuning the FR to a state that none of the frequencies stand out or being covered
N5005 tries to attract listeners with a more flavored and dynamic signature. The quantity and quality of bass have both been greatly increased, especially the speed of bass is much faster. This makes the imaging so improved when compared to k3003,but its FR is far from neutral and this will surely disappoint those who`re fond of K3003.

Maybe this impression will change when I switch from tx-500 tips to some other ones, but the quantity of bass is a bit too much for me and I`m not able to get used to it even till now.
Soundstage is still wide, separation of instruments is still great, tremble is a bit forward, but not a bad thing.

So IMO N5005 is for musicality, not for "reference" or something like k3003.

I have a minor issue with my cable as you can see in the foto below and I was wondering if somebody with some experience can tell me if instant glue (gel formula, whatever that's supposed to mean) can/should be used to fix this or if it could have a detrimental effect on the cable

Yep, I'd look for an alternate adhesive or send that pic to AKG and perhaps get a replacement under warranty. Seems to be some QC issues going on with the N5005.
