AKG501 or Senn600?

With the right amp (e.g. the Bada PH-12), I definitely endorse the K501 over the HD600, especially given your stated listening preferences. The K501's vastly superior coherency serves classical, jazz and most pop venues very, very well, IMHO.

Not to resurrect an old thread, but I have found the K501's (reterminated to balanced) to be extremely difficult to drive on a balanced Little Dot setup (DAC_I and MKVII+), whereas I have had no trouble whatsoever with balanced HD600's on the same system. Just my $.02.
