 the k545 is more fun than the p7?

not to tell you what to do or nothing but I think you would enjoy switching one of those for some open back headphones. Or both for an he500. Just a suggestion.

I am in the same boat, I own and love my Q701 but 90% of my listening is done portably so the K545 gets most of my listening time.

I enjoy it when I have time, but selling is a definite possibility :)

What you should do is sell them and or hop on the Martin Logan Mikros 90 bandwagon!

Well add me to the list of happy 545 customers (with a caveat).  Picked up a pair today at Best Buy after a little back and forth w/ Dweaver (thanks btw).  My idea sound sig is that of the iem GR07 BE...and the 545 is almost exactly what I was looking for.

My issue with them is the same as a few others on here...seal.  With my glasses on, I cannot for the life of me get a good seal without pushing the ear pads against my head.  The headband clamping pressure is just too light.  I guess they will start to conform after 15-20 min. of continuous use...so I'll have to experiment with that when I get home from work.  As of now, I kept taking my glasses off so I can listen to the awesomeness that is the 545.  I hear the HM5 pads work great...so if I decide to keep the headphones after some more comparisons with my M100s and the new Beats Studios (don't laugh, they are muuuuuch improved) I'll probably grab the HM5 pads and see how that works out.

I never have attempted an AKG headphone as I heard they are all bass-light, so I am happy to see them adding a bit of low end to the glorious midrange.  These things are simply outstanding and I agree with most everyone else on here that has picked them up...they are a special headphone for sure.

my only challenge is on ears always hurt my ears or won't stay on if they don't.

@midnigh:

I'm hitting the 2-3 hour mark before my ears hurt because they rub on the drivers (I have big ears). Diameter of the inner cup is great, it's the depth if the cup I have trouble with. I bought the Brainwavz HM50's pads to alleviate this issue. These are my form room cans so I don't need portability when adding bulkier but comfy pads! When I receive them I will see if I notice a difference in sound signature, but alas, they're still in Hong Kong hehe

I was so close to pulling the trigger on the k545s, but something just kept urging me not to (not sure whether it was the talk of the comfort of the pads, or weak isolation). I've heard about the Thinksound On1s, and they seem like the ones the phones I'm going to get. Although more of a traditional on-ear (as opposed to the pseudo over-ear k545s), I think the fact that I'll be wearing them on the go means that isolation plays an important factor.

Still hoping to try the k545s out, from what I've read in this thread, they're a great pair of phones.
