That's exactly where my creaking issues occured... on both sides.

The right driver issue was a completely seperate issue than that of the creaking...

Tibwolf, I had very similar thoughts when I first got my 545's. They felt too shallow and uncomfortable. Over time, however, I have found that the issue slowly dissolves away and they adapt to you comfortably.

I found it quite helpful to swivel my earcups because they weren't perfectly uniform.

Razordog is extremely reliable. Brian replaced my first unit and refunded me for the second...

Its not razordog... its AKG...

And doesn't Best Buy do a 30 day price match? Go get your partial refund, if so, my friend...

AKG is looking into this model and some of the QC issues. Many of the initial production runs had crinkling and balance issues. Most of that seems to be better as it's been a while since I had one come back with issues.

Glad to hear AKG might be sorting this out Brian. It unfortunately has hurt the reputation of a very good sounding headphone.

Sorry for asking but the largest pressing issues for this headphone is the flexing drivers and decibel loss on the left side right?

I occasionally hear my own pair flex and initially I thought they were imbalanced at one point but so far they seem okay. A lot of the crinkling I hear when I turn my head actually comes from the earpads moving against the housing of the drivers.

When I push against my earcup to purposely flex the drivers, it seems the right side flexes louder than the left side.

Also I hope MP4 stocks the HM5 earpads eventually.

Reading about the HM9, it appears they are one of these in between on ear and over ear size headphones. So you might have as much or more issues with them as compared to the original pads. But if they are not to expensive they might be worth taking a chance on.

+1...  The HM9 pads are on-ear pads that cover your entire ear.  At least when they are on the HM9, they act that way.
