AKG new headphone K545?

The K545 soundstage is very close to the K550 so is much bigger than the Momentum. In regards to dynamics I think it depends on what makes music sound dynamic to you. For me praat is part of the equation along with solid deep bass, slightly elevated mids and clear detailed treble. For me the K545 embodies all of that. The Momentum on the other hand placed to much emphasis on the mid-bass and lower to middle midrange and not enough on the treble. Causing it be to warm and a bit shouty. The K545 on the other hand is a bit brighter like the K550 but without the one peak most people disliked.

Thank you again. As I said on the post of Nad Viso (which I found too warm and unatural), I will soon receive the Momentum and K545 - (ahem... I'm not senile, I repeat this for the others :) After what you said, I think the K545 will win ...  To be continued !

What I call "dynamic" is the ability to differentiate between loud sounds and low sounds with some speed. You can call it as the "punch". Maybe I'm not using the right term?

Edit : What PRAAT means ?

Sorry that should have been prat the quick definition is, PRaT = Pace, Rhythm and Timing. If you search head-fi you will see some threads on it.

For me this area is important because I don't like headphones that are slow but I also don't like headphones that seem to cut off the natural decay of a sound.

Also I like headphones that can transition in volume easily and with great detail, something again the K545 excels at.

Going from memory of the T50P the K545 will have much better bass and a larger sound stage for starters. The T50P simply lacked bass quantity. In the mids I would say the K545 will be warmer but at least as detailed. The treble will be more sparkly with the T50P.

The T50P being on ear will be more portable but more uncomfortable.

In my opinion the only way you will like the T50P more is if you really prefer a light bass or if you really want an on ear headphone.

I've heard both. I thought the newer one (at least the one I've heard) was a downgrade from my old T50p. The new one sounded shrill and way too bassy. At least it was easy to create a seal with them, unlike the T50p. But one person's impressions of the T51p portrayed them as very treble-deficient, so maybe Beyer still has QC issues with the Teslas.

I don't know how the t51p sounds but man I can't think of an uglier hp

hahaha lucky for all you audiophiles, looks is the least important thing in the holy trifecta of sound-comfort-looks. =P
