Does the cables have to be removed before fitting into the hard case?

If you're interested in selling a used AKG 812 Pro for $700, please pm.

Amazon's lowest price was around $1150 and I think that's still way too much. ≈$700, that would be a fair price for these. I would consider buying them again at that price.

People on Ebay sell open box models for $990.
I think buying a used one for $700 makes sense.
$1499 doesn't make any sense at all. AKG should reduce its price. I'd say $800 as new makes more sense. If they make something that beats HD800, HE6, LCD-X, then I'd pay that much.

800$ for a new one sounds like a joke.
For me HD800, K812 and LCD-X are on the same level differ only by its sound signature.

Measurements are not that important ! You cannot hear this kind of distortion on the very low end of the frequency area.
Trust your own ears.

I had two HD800 (older and newer serial number) , two LCD-X and one K812 and at the end I kept the K812.

The spongebob bass of the k812 is clearly caused by high distortion. What is your explanation then?

As did I.    I had a professional musician A -B my LCD-X and the 812.   He chose the 812.  Confirmed what I thought and off went the LCD-X   .  Just a matter of preference.
