I was reading some threads here, and I understand the difference between the AKG K701 and K702 is only the colour and that the latter has a detachable cable. Right?

If so, why is the K702 70% more expensive? In Germany at least.

K701 online store - €217
K702 online store - €369

EDIT: To make it even stranger, the prices of Amazon USA:

AKG K701 - $338
AKG K702 - $278

Very odd, in Europe we pay €150 for a detachable cable, and America pays $60 for a fixed cable...

yeah, think I've read that, it's only the detachable cables.

That price of the 701 with thomann, it's not always 217, I've seen it for 215 and 209 also (also with thomann) http://www.thomann.de/nl/akg_k701.htm (

I noticed that too, the price of the K702 also changes when you change the country... (I chose Germany in my example because I think more people understand German than Dutch here :p)

EBay has the K702 for $249 shipped. I bought mine on Amazon two days ago for $259 shipped. Looks like the price went up.
