Just a shout out if anyone else feels that AKG might cut the K601 in the near future from the product line.
 
This thought crossed my mind by chance after stumbling upon some online retailers that are now for
no apparent reason 'no longer listing this item'.
 
It might make sense, first they re-located the production for the K601 to China for cost saving and we
now have the celebrity focus of the Quincy series.

It's a split call for any owner. On a personal level, if AKG halt production then it's a good chance
that it will join the likes of the K501 as an appreciated, sought-after headphone with increased
value. Repairs and spares though would become a pain.
 
For the Head-FI community though it would be a loss.
