Still no detachable cable. And looks like they just randomly changed colors on a few parts, and went with a bright blue cable on one. If these are reference headphones, why do they have a volume control on the cord?

Looks like they're going for portable style choices on a not really portable headphone. Doesn't make too much sense.

sounds like AKG is trying to cash in on the K550 success.  I know klipsch s4 was complimented by the s4i.  Like another poster stated, they should call these K550i.  I guess the 1 in 551 can be a capital "i".

I prefer my all black cans over the silver hybrid/all silver look.

Although my K550s fit my big noggin perfectly, I hope they do add more modifications to help fit those cranially challenged .

I won't be upgrading from my K550s as they perfectly suit my reason for owning them.  A sealed headphone with great soundstage.  My only gripe is the mid-hi freq grinding that still rears its ugly head ever so often.  If they fix that, hrm...then maybe.  That is if burn-in doesn't completely remove it...as it has already rid most of the occurences.

A lot of users are complaining about not getting a proper seal.

What do AKG, Tupperware and a walrus have in common?

NOTE TO AKG:  You seriously need to hire me to fix your **** because I am gettng sick and tired of how you keep ******* up all the time.  I am giving you one calendar year to get your ******* act together.  That's plenty of time.  if you can't do it by then, just seriously give it up.  It was bad enough when "Made in P.R.C." happened, but now you're starting to make "Designed in Austria" sound like a ******* joke.  Consider yourselves mutha ******* warned.  Have a nice day!

The next thing they need to do is get a Celebrity endorsement, and we should be good to go...

They already do.  They've got Tiesto, but their incompetent and constipated asses can't even get that turd squeezed out on time.  Apologies for my frustration.  Gonna go up my meds.

Do you not like the option to have the detachable cable? I think it's actually quite practical and beneficial, in case anything goes wrong with the headphones.

Or cable rather.  If something goes wrong with the headphone, salvaging the cable isn't going to make me feel that much better.
