He sure was, and that's not the only thing he was right about (although perhaps it was the most important point

)! Dearly missed he is...

To the one and only..

I can say with certainty, he is watching us, all. Sorely missed.

The JH13fp is much more forward and fuller in presentation than the K3K, which more pushed away and airy.  The JH13 is surrounding you with music, whereas the K3K is presenting it to you in a more typical forward projection fashion.

Most noticeable is the JH13 has a good bit more mid bass.  This adds to the fullness and gives a much stronger bass presence that hits harder.  The K3K has less mid bass but similar sub bass, so the focus is more on the rumble.

The K3K has a little more presence in the upper mid, so vocals have a sweeter, lighter tone and on the JH13 vocals are heftier and fuller and perhaps a touch more intimate.

Cymbals on both are very sparkly, however on the K3K there is more distance between you and the cymbals, whereas most times they are more forward and closer to you with the JH13, even if not as overall bright as the K3K.  The K3K has the best treble timbre/tonality I've heard and beats the JH13 handily (and all others for me) here.

The JH13 has more precise imaging, and in fact has the best imaging I've heard.  However the K3K sounds cleaner.  I don't want to use the word clearer here, as it isn't more transparent or provide better low level detail retrieval, but it just sounds like a clear stream of water.  Due to the lower mid and mid bass of the JH13, it doesn't have this 'clean' sound of the K3K, yet everything sounds very precise and has excellent low level detail retrieval.

I instantly fell in love with the K3K when I first heard it from a loaner.  The JH13 has taken longer to grow on me, due to the unexpected elevated bass but my enjoyment grows every time I listen to it.

Thanks Shotgunshane,

Being a fan of AKG K3003, i was referred by a friend to try out JH13fp. Some friends argue whether FP is really that good, hence the question.

As i read a lot of your posts, i trust your opions and taste. Thanks!
