Looks like my 2 year and 4 month love affair with the K3003i is coming to an end, took delivery of the Angie's today and I think my K3003i's will be hitting the classifieds very soon. The Angie's seem to do everything just that little bit better than the K3003.

I would be VERY careful with the 3.5k area, since the 3003 have a dip exactly there. I suggested a very narrow cut on 5k especially to leave the lower frequencies untouched.
Got it. Right now I'm experimenting with tips. Foam tips seem to be helping but haven't completely fixed the issue either.
If that doesn't work I'll try playing around with eq'ing but of course the iphone doesn't allow for system-wide eq'ing so I cant use it on the apps that I currently use for music playback.

True. Let's hope the introduction of audio units in iOS will also bring the option to apply eq on the output of the phone itself. But meanwhile, if you already have a large library that you want to use on your phone, it's the only way. With a computer is easier.

okay then, I recently tried to narrow cut at 5khz point and it did help, thanks

try Onkyo HF Player (free version), it has 11 band graph EQ, easy enough to adjust and quite precise.

Don't see why the K3003 needs to be sold, unless it's a money thing. My K3003 gets along just fine with my precious Layla.

Lol, not quite.
They do look good albeit a bit like frankenstein's bolts!. Bit like the old UE TF10.

i enjoy the sound from the k3003 and the ease of use compared the the 12 driver he mentioned.

It's partly a money thing and partly a limited use thing.
I already own a few other iem's/headphones and they all tend to get limited use except 2. I've never been one for building a big collection up.
However I do love the K3003 and like you say there is nothing stopping them and Angie being the best of friends lol.

wait a while until the 'new toy syndrome' period dies , then you see if you should sell your K3s or not
you see how M-13 returned to the K3 camp , even though having a 2500$ iem at hand

That had crossed my mind but I don't think new toy syndrome will wane with these.

they don't look like the tf10 which are longer, made of blue plastic and stick out of the ear noticeably. now they were called frackenstein's bolts for good reason.
