The K167 has excellent isolation FWIR. So even if the K267 has less isolation, it will still have good/decent isolation.

I'm wondering what would account for the difference in isolation. Would it be the type of pads or perhaps the "bass level" options?

There's no need to "chime in", the only logical explanation is K267 is vented while K167 is fully closed, alpha10, maybe you can look for where the openings are positioned? Maybe the at the "ring" at the adjustable bass setting or maybe on the outer shell somewhere else?

The bass adjustment is like earlier said 99% likely down to how much it's vented (more venting = more bass = less isolation).

However I would be suprised if alpha10 doesn't notice an even better soundstage on K267 as a result, from my experience vented cups always beats fully closed design (if all other factors would remain the same, ie same design, drivers etc) and now the cups are exactly same shape so the vents should show their advantage in a better comparable way. All headphones I've tried with openings in the cups gets significantly worse soundstage if covering up the openings.

Would be nice with a more detailed sound comparision as I doubt it sounds exactly the same due to vented design and different drivers (40mm vs 50mm). Getting the same frequency response out of different drivers, especially when different size, is already a big challenge.

EDIT I'm guessing the openings are probably around the "turning circle"

Probably as you turn it, new opening(s) are exposed which you can easily determine if putting the ear next to it. It should be of a more bassheavy sound leaking.

As I only had about 10-15 minutes, I didn't have enough time for a detailed comparison, but as I wrote the sound is similar as K167, not the same.
But the isolation is obvious, and definately a deal breaker for me, I don't need the bass adjust (for me it's just a gimmick), the build quality is nice, but I'm sure my K167 will last, I always take good care of my stuff.

Im hoping that perhaps the pads had not conformed to your head yet, or that the bass adjustment was set to Stage (All ports open). The build on the K167 is a deal breaker for me, and if the isolation truly that bad, then that's a deal breaker for me.

Still waiting for peoples impressions on the K267s though.

alpha, keep in mind that you absolutely cannot exaggerate when it comes to being one of the first opinions on the board... people are going to take what you say exactly at face value, and they're going to make big decisions based on your opinions. Throwing around words like "deal breaker" can mean a lot when people go to buy. Is the isolation really that bad?

Oh, my opinions are just my own. I didn't feel they isolated very much if any compared to the K167.

No one, and I really mean no one should buy headphones without trying them first, I did that some years ago, and I will never do it again.

Still I don't know how the K550 compare to the new Tiestos K167 and K267 both soundwise and build wise. I know the K550 are metal and leather so slightly better than K167 on the build side, but what about isolation and sound quality (bass, detail, etc?) and what about against the K267?

Also, on the portability side, how long is the cable on the K167 and K267? Are the K267 smaller than the K550, because in the pictures in which Tiesto has them they look small (K267).

But I guess I kinda need pics for size comparison especially against headphones I really know (Sennheiser Momntum and sadly Beats Pro, for example)
