Hello i'm quite new to this whole high quality headphone hobby. I have a pair of SR60s that i love to death however reading many threads on this forum i felt the need to upgrade. I currently own a cowon s9 and i just purchased a fiio E9 and i'm planning on buying a AKG k701/2 (i have searched the threads and i do know they match quite well). My question is do i still need a LOD cable to use this setup properly?
 
Cowon S9 -->LOD--->Fiio E9-->AKG K701/2
 
or can i just do this
 
Cowon s9 -->Fiio E9-->AKG K701/2
