my rationale for the expedited shipping was that if it was in fact a mistake but they do decide to honor some orders, with free shipping they would probably take their sweeeeeeet time

Music123 is legit. I used to get my cheap throwaway violin bows from that site. I also order violin strings from there occasionally.

If it does fall thru, I'll try to negotiate a "fair" price with the seller for myself and anyone else on this forum who bought to help him save some face. I was actually looking to buy a new pair anyhow, and there is an eBay seller who has 7 new pairs for under $250 new (not factory seconds) with free shipping.  Who knows, maybe he'll still cut us a nice deal.

Amazon is fairly good about honoring their stuff.  Buy.com on the other hand.  I said I would never shop from buy.com because of how annoying it was to buy from there (it kept saying my address didn't exist though I resided there for 2 years).  Still if they honor it, then they might regain me as a customer.
