I finally have a reliable balanced cable for my SS. I initially ordered a Signal Cable from Beat Audio through Stephen Guo and the first one I received had the problem. They sent me a second one and it works perfectly. Plus as usual with Beat Audio, quality and ergonomics are above the rest.

What type of tips are you using for Shure.

Looks like Westone star tips, my favorite for Shure Se846.

I've just received my Comply tips for SE846 and Sennheiser IE80 the Tx series has significant difference. I did not expect this, i thought it is just good built quality. It turns out that they really give different sound experience. Now waiting to see how would cables impact this experience. Plus the difference that would AK240SS do comparing to iPod classic without amp

i will once I receive them, as to me its so obvious how a tip can change the sound signature so much, I think the tips have the most effect on sound signature when it comes to iems, so I am willing to try to try as many as possible, I also might consider doing a custom shell on my shure 846,but this will come later

Dont have AK500n so cant compare but Wow - where to go now -
 
Will stick Hugo in the mix and NXT-2AK and then until Chord XXXX - think I'm set for portable
