Oh wow, is that a metal band playing on the DAP? How's metal with Aeon closed?
I like its neutral signature, I like bass which is fast and detailed. Not the most engaging sound but I like it.

The AFC and Black Label is my desert island combo. In other words, the last gear I would ever sell.

Completely agree. I could lose everything else as long as I have my AFC and ifi BL.

Did anyone had any problems with the stock cable? I've purchased AFC this fall and gradually lost the right channel after light office use.

  • Is it possible to repair? I think the problem is near the cup connector.
  • Are there any inexpensive aftermarket alternatives?
  • Is this covered by warranty? I've used the support form on danclarkaudio.com but received no response.
Had to revert back to my old hand-modded T50RP until I figure it out with the cable.

I do not have the tool, but swapping cup connections points to the cable problem.
It should be easy enough to fix. I would try to source a couple of the plugs though, they are filled with an epoxy-like substance that is impossible to remove, at least the player end is so I would assume the headphone end is too.

The wires are easy to work with, I removed the 3.5mm plug and replaced it with this:

Don't hesitate to call or email for support. If the problem changes sides when you reverse the L/R cables on the headphone then you're correct, it's the cable. We're happy to cover this, as it sounds like a clear warranty issue. info@danclarkaudio.com
