@mrspeakers, congratulations on AEON achieving the WOF!.

There is one detail that leaves me scratching my head. Your specs say 1mW will get you 95dB SPL. The six measurements that @Tyll Hertsens published in "The AEON Book" have the power required to produce 90dB SPL as: 31.61, 2.16, 7.96, 2.66, 13.42 and 2.65; multiply by 3.16 to arrive at the power needed to get 95dB and we have numbers varying from 6.83 to 99.88! I am really hoping that there is a glitch in Tyll's measurements, as 95dB/mW makes AEON very DAP friendly...

hd6XX? recessed mids? does not compute
This was in comparison with the AEONs. As I said, IMO (this is for my ears), the AEONs are better in this regard. Of course the HD 6xx are not mid-recessed, but they do have the "veil."

How effective is the Aeon at handling sound leak?

I used to own the Ether C Flow and found it to leak tremendously.

I am interested in a new set of closed cans and those are definitely on my short list with a few other candidates.

But I would have to listen to them first, cause I fear they are too bright for me.
Can't find them from EU Dealers... Maybe @mrspeakers could give info when these will be available in Germany?

Cheers

I've got to go back and re-test that, it makes me question the spec. I also want to talk to Tyll about his measurement rig to understand the difference. It does work fine with the DAPs I've tried, my QP1r is my standard all in one, but it also works ok off my phone as long as I'm not trying to go to 11...

Germany has their first two units for dealer demos, we expect to have them in stock in Germany in 3-4 weeks.

I don't know anything about the numbers, but the Aeons sound great with my Plenue 1 and it can drive them plenty loud enough.
