Would you say apart from soundstage size it is just a side grade from AAW500? Because I had the 500 on order and asked to wait for the upgrade...and I love the 500 sound.

 
I wouldn't call it a sidegrade, as they have different sound signatures. For those that love the W500, and prefer a colored sound over something that's say, rather flat or neutral, I doubt you'll be very happy with the W900.
 
Did you get the regular W500, or the AHMorph variant?
 
In any case, I wasn't very impressed with the W900, if only because I'm not a fan of neutral, airy and clear sound signatures. I can still appreciate them for what they are, and its many strengths, but I can't say I'd be using the W900 at all.
 
 

 
Yeah I sorta expected a W500 on steroids to be honest, because a lotta IEMs have the "neutral with big soundstage" signature already, but the W500 bass.... boom boom!

 
Yup. That was how I approached this event. I'm sure many people thought the same thing, too. Unfortunately, instead of getting the super-sized pizza with all the toppings I wanted, I got a dish of caviar and king oysters instead.

Well, I hope you like it! The IEM that I think it most closely resembles is the SE 5-Way Ultimate. But it's been a long time since I've heard the latter, so I may be wrong, but my initial impressions listening to the 2 were pretty similar.

Upgraded. My W500 was with AAW for RMA anyways so I figured might as well. Also, the W900 fixed a lot of problems that I had with the W500.
