Very intrigued by your great post and jumped on the RY4S yesterday. Im in the same age group and find hunting through all these cheap earbuds can be confusing so your guide is great. At my age it seems sibilance is thing that I hate the most.

For me too. I have found that the solution is to buy them all.

Buy them all and make some more...

Those 600-Ohm Beryllium drivers, mounted in the small metal shells, have spoiled me.

EDIT: Those drivers aren't really budget models.

Thanks. They are a terrific earbud, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. However, your mileage may vary. LOL. Let me know how it turns out.

I have no idea what you're talking about, but I want them lol!

Personally I like it when someone else makes some more and then gives them to me! :)

Just got the Qian 69 after reading a lot of glowing praise. I think these are going to need some burn in since out of the box the bass is pretty anemic and the treble is harsh and strident. Im going for 50 hours of burn in and will see what happens. Same thing happen with VE monks and after burn in they sounded amazing. The Qian got better reviews so Im hoping for good burn in results. Anyone had any experience with Qian 69 and could tell me how long I should keep this burn in going? Thanks

what do you have to recommend to me guys?
I just got the vidos I paid $3 for. the left side rattles a bit when pushed I think it got damaged in shipping but... I love this headphone minus one flaw, it doesnt go deep enough(low freq extension), im left in the dark and cant use it as main driver. The treble altho a tad warm is fantastic and resolving, good recordings sound good and bad recordings sound bad.

What do I buy next? I want exactly the vido with more low extension :X

Nice! Those metal buds are hot. I'd love to give making my own buds a shot but I just don't think I could do better than my RY4S UEs.

blue, I dont think it has a J-cable as it looks normal in the split there. bought from limonade something on ebay.

it was not shipped in any bubble wrap or any protection, and took a long time = decent chance of damage in shipping i'd say, just my experience.

Im probably going to buy 2 more.
