Lol how could you forget it with the rubber circle glued on!?
I think it could be battery. No warmth when it's plugged to charge.
If it's ok, ill send it to you to see if you can fix it.

I have been meaning to ask for a while - Just out of interest -was wondering if anyone had pulled apart and examined the audio circuitry- while nothing is mentioned in the manual the calyx m appears to run with 3.5mm trrs balanced cables with good performance
The m-jack that came with player in later batches has a 4 pole trrs but does not work with a balanced 3.5mm cable -while same cable works when connected directly
I have used the 2.5mm to 3.5mm balanced adaptor I use with zx2 and plenue s and these all work well - just don’t recall anything mentioned in this forum regarding this - however if you have 3.5mm balanced cables it is handy to be able to use directly - don’t know if the set up is similar to the zx2 or if there was some attempt in design stage to have balanced - anyone have any info on this ?
not a tempting review to think buying it when you described the sound, to overlook all the negatives of this dap to buy then the sound must be awesome and I did not get that sense from your review
