HI,
I have few good RCA interconnects and would like to connect the 6.5 mm output of the Herus
to my headphone amplifier? do we have a good quality connector for this purpose? 6.5 mm male to two female RCA's
any link will be highly appreciated. I don't want to spend more bucks on those audioquest or
crystal cable that can do that.

Got my UERMs last night and find them much better for listening than the JH16s.

I had a chance to do a side by side with the Herus, Audioengine D3, Audioquest Dragonfly V1, Centrance DACport, Meridian Explorer (revision), the Apex Glacier by itself, and the ODAC > Glacier. The Herus had more hiss than all of the others. It really made quiet passage listening for classical music unbearable. I used Jean-Guihen Queyras doing Bach Cello Suites as my test. The recording is super clean and you can hear when he takes breaths or even shuffles around. At low volumes, the noise floor on the Herus made a lot of that detail inaudible.

I find this rather surprising 'cos I couldn't detect any hiss in my Herus. However in the various Glaciers that I demoed (admittedly in a different time) I could detect some hiss although not enough to be annoying.

What IEMs were you using?

I was using Audirvana+, I'll try it with Jriver at home tomorrow.

I'll plug it into the iusb as well to see if something's going on there.

maybe my herus is defective?

Could be.  Or maybe you're just highly sensitive to noise (or, alternatively, my ears are shot because I'm older than fossils).  As you know from our other communications, I don't find the noise floor of the Herus to be problematic with UERM, even with very quiet passages such as the opening of the SFS Mahler 1.

I was using primarily my TG!334 which is supposed to be very sensitive to hiss. Setup is as follows :-

iPad Air -> CCK -> Type A->B -> Herus -> 1/4"/3.5mm -> TG!334.

Thinking about it, wonder if the 1/4"/3.5mm would mask the hiss.

The FitEar F111 is the only one I can hear hiss with but it's very, very low and I can only hear it when music isn't playing. In fact the F111 is my favorite pairing. It really sounds excellent.

I don't see why it should. For what it's worth I'm experiencing little to no hiss on my unit, though I haven't had time to try it with a lot of different IEMs yet. But so far with the few I have tried it's almost completely free of hiss.

You should do a writeup comparing all those usb dac/amp that you tested.  It would be good to let others know how they sound different from each other.  There are so many choices these days in this segment.
