Wow, Gearbest doesn't mess around on cell phone deliveries. I ordered the ZTE Axon 7 Mini on the 10th of this month and chose DHL delivery (cheap and fast, I guess). DHL estimates the package should arrive at my door Monday the 15th.

Spending time while waiting watching YouTube videos, some of which call the audio on the Mini the best ever for a smart phone, even better than the full size Axon 7 (it has a newer, more powerful DAC/amp). Even if there is a certain amount of hype around the phone's audio, it has to be better than my Samsung Galaxy Sky and S4.

Specs look like they could equal the hype: 32 bit DAC and ADC, amp output 25mW @ 32Ω, 40mW @ 16Ω, automatic impedance detection, ADC: max 192kHz, DAC: max 384kHz sampling rates. live stereo recording with reactive level recording, (won't turn audio into a distorted mess when audio or video recording at concerts).

On paper it looks perfect for me. I guess I'll find out Monday how well "on paper" translated to real life.

I'm aware of the fused DAC/DSP/amp in the mini. Were you aware that it is higher spec'd than the older separate systems in the Axon 7? Technology progresses forward, getting smaller and more powerful all the time, sometimes even in a mid-range cell phone.
The new part is probably less expensive than the separates, could be why it was chosen for the Mini, but it can still do 32 bit 384 kHz, like the Fiio x7 MK 2.

Personally I wouldn't bother here, to try to save an additional $7 because the $16.99 price is a decent enough discount for me.
