The breach happened via the Android app. If you have ever used their app then you are at risk. As per latest news, they are freezing the said accounts. But there is no update on fixing the loopholes.

Was tempted by app discounts, but never installed it. I get nervous about giving any personal details to offshore sites, so I always use PayPal for them. Using GearBest on trial basis. Recently got a dead smartwatch from them, customer service asked for a video of the problem, so I sent video and photos of parts loose in the watch. Sent a description of the problem and what I had tried to get it to work.
Next they told me to change the watch 3 hours after I told them it was charged overnight.
My feeling is that they want me to give up and go away without getting a working watch. I'm weighing whether I should do just that... How much effort is a $6 smartwatch worth? For me though, it is the principal of the thing, I paid for a working watch and I'd like to get one.
Sorry about the rant- thinking about GB's customer service set me off, lol.
