1MORE H1707 Triple-Driver Over Ear

I have no doubt that the sound accuracy will get there. Could even be better since we're eliminating the cable. We're already pushing hi-rez files over wi-fi losslessly. But will they ever compete in terms of the muscle that only a desk-top amp can provide, or the vivid liveliness of a tube amp?
This reminded me of the Mo Fi headphones from Blue - they have an onboard amp which seems like it could take Bluetooth up another level. I googled them and was sent to the Blue headphones page that has an image of these but no description of what the are? The badge says both AMP and ANC?

Dug around some more, they are the Blue Satellite, looks like from 2017 so maybe they've pulled them?

The new Drop Panda is also supposed to be a game changer in this regard, with built in THX amplification. I just have a hard time imagining even the most powerful micro amp delivering the kind of current you get from a bigger mains powered amp.

I'm experiencing cognitive dissonance: the sound quality from these $134.54 headphones doesn't compute. Even better with my Arctic OCC cable.

Oh isn't that the truth! I was looking for an after market cable too. How much did Arctic OCC cost you? Web link?

It was a little under $200 I think from http://arcticcables.com

It's the 4 wire OCC with the AQ Nighthawk/owl connectors. Fantastic cable in terms of sound, flexibility/comfort & lack on microphonics

How are these Vs Beyer's T51p or DT1350 ?
I had the T5p.2 which is a TOTL closed headphone in the Beyerdynamic line and let me tell you, these 1MORE's knock it out of the park. Comparatively, I'd say I enjoy these more than the T5p.2. My ears fit inside the 1MORE, so for me, they're over-the-ear unlike the T51p or DT1350 would be.

Interesting. That's far from the opinion of the Indian guy who liked his 20$ headphones better lol.
Im one of those rare ppl who are actually looking for comfortable on ears as i like to have some of my ears exposed to air, esp in summer days.

I didn't understand/research why their anatomy is uncomfortable for some people's ears. I'll search for pics of them without the pads.

What's the difference between the AQ connectors vs Hifiman connectors? Don't they both fit the 1More?

That's pretty damn cheap! might get them when they hit 50$ :joy:
I received them 2 days ago and removed the layered foam in front of the driver (I am no treble shy), it's a delight !

Yeah, the foam mod really transforms the H1707!

I know you said you’re not treble shy, but if for whatever reason the treble becomes a little too much, just put a small piece back over the ceramic driver only.

Thanks for the advice :-)

Tried the no foam mod. Definately an improvement, but I suspect I will want to apply foam to the treble speaker again. I am unable to fix the strident treble with EQ. My FLC8n IEM still beat them in all regards with better controlled bass even. The bass lingers for too long in h1707 to my taste, unable to fix that by lowering bass in EQ. Default bass is very boomy but nice with some reduction. Still nice to have an over ear alternative when you need a break from putting things in your ear.

Here is a good bass test track if someone is curious, the most bass layered track I have ever heard. Get a higher quality version though if you like the song it's quite compressed:
