1MORE H1707 Triple-Driver Over Ear

I have been enjoying my H1707s this week using a Meizu HiFi Pro USB-C dongle ($45) with my Samsung S9+. Drives them really nicely and has better SQ than my phone, too. Bought it because independent measurements found the Meiuz to be very accurate. Note that you get full power from it without having to use USB Audio Pro:

Good news! I was keeping an eye on this device too. From my phone, an old HTC Desire Eye, these cans are really unbearable to listen to. Sound like totally different HPs.

I really liked this headphone, must have been a bad fit for the poster in India. They fit me perfectly and the seal was quite good and I really liked the sound. I was using my friends set that he wanted me to sell for him, but before I did he remembered just how nice they sounded and took them off offer. Good call as I thought they sounded fantastic. If I used portables with cables I would have bought it myself.

I like the Meizu sound quality as much as my Shanling M2X DAP, and I do not miss my Fiio X5 MK 3 when using the Meizu. Of course those DAPs have more headphone amp output, but the Meizu works great with my H1707, HD-1, Focal Elear, and HD58X.

Well, when you’ve talked yourself into hating something before you even receive and hear it, it’s to be expected

Sad, but true.

I just got a set from the latest Drop for $124 @Slater thanks for posting both the pad and tweeter foam mod. They were too small for me and even though I love the sound I wouldn't have kept them but with the new pads they're fantastic.
Fantastic and a keeper? Does this mean that you are keeping them? I hope so. That build and sound quality for such a great price is pretty amazing, IMO. Good score. For portable use I would love that form factor and sound, but wireless.

Yeah, they were cheap enough that I wasn't afraid to mod them, and I wouldn't resell something I've voided the warranty on. Wireless would be nice, when I'm at my desk with the amp it's all good but I just upgraded from an iPhone 6 to an X and I've been disappointed with the sound out from the dongle. Bluetooth seems a little better.

Also, deep in the middle of this thread there used to be a lightning cable for these but everywhere that used to sell it says it's no longer in stock. I was kind of hoping there'd be multiple choices of lightning dacs but it looks like bluetooth owns the future.

Bluetooth absolutely owns the future, and the present for that matter, in the portable space. Next up for Bluetooth is full sized, stay at home, critical listening headphones. We have a few examples already with quite a few more to follow in the next few years I am sure. About four years ago now I started (as did many other people) extoling the virtues of Bluetooth and predicting the dominant marketplace hold it should/would have and that seems to be the case.

I just got mine from Massdrop (Drop.com) too, recently, and I concur that the 1MORE is a fantastic headphone with great satisfying bass. I'm keeping mine for sure. They are as clear and as satisfying as my HiFiMan Edition XX headphones which were $599. I run them primarily with my DragonFly COBALT out of my laptop. I've also run them out of my Micro iDSD BL which is overkill but sounds just as good.

Yep. They are excellent headphones for the money.

I've never understood why the H1707 are not more popular. They easily compete as a best price/performance value <$200.

I have no doubt that the sound accuracy will get there. Could even be better since we're eliminating the cable. We're already pushing hi-rez files over wi-fi losslessly. But will they ever compete in terms of the muscle that only a desk-top amp can provide, or the vivid liveliness of a tube amp?
