I have a pair of U12 ADEL and I've used many ear tips (large bore) with my IEM. SpinFit CP-100, JVC Spiral Dot, RHA Dual Density, Comply 500, Sony EP-EX (older), Sony EP-TC (triple comfort)...all those will fit U series without or little modification.

BTW, since you bought your U8 from Massdrop I believe your IEM is apex model. In case you didn't know it already, there is another thread specifically for apex IEMs here.

My A18 pairs well with dx200 w/amp3. I like it. But the treble is a little bit too hot with some songs. Mango mode is laggy. Battery is just ok.

It may be standard as everyone's ear anatomy is different so there may be flopping of the membrane.
As for the difficulty of removal, i reccomend using a vernier caliper or digital caliper to measure the diameter of the mam and the hole in the iem. I believe it is more of the iem's fault as 3d printing is not as exact as machining

I have my own pair of kickstarter era mams and do not experience any of those issues.

Remove it a few times, it should then become easy after that.

Regarding the flopping sensation, it could be due to the ear anatomy. Still I would suggest that you work with ADEL and confirm it.

I have what sounds like a washing machine sound when I use the MAM. No the same as your problem but it seems to be related to vascular action in the ear.
