1964 Ears Adel IEMs

Never have 1964 iems before. Any recommendation?

Best thing you can do is go to their web site and look at which models they recommend based on live sound and the instrument you play..
I have the old Qi's (4-drivers per ear) and am about to upgrade to the A8's  -  I play bass.
For simple listening, I would suggest you call them and ask...   the A12's are AWESOME for that (I hear - pun intended) but have no experience with them.

Never had ringing with any IEMs, but I listen at moderate volume, you must listen a bit high don't you ?
... I did experience listening fatigue though, not with the U12 (but the pressure balanced Flare R2 Pro did that too, different tech same idea).

Actually, I beg to differ - I don't listen at high level. I won't be surprised if my listening volume level is lower than most people but yet I also do get ringing in my ears previously. It's just how, as with other things, our ears are structured differently and happen to be more sensitive than others. Just like some people has allergies to anything, and others have none.

Been listening using my A6 (just got it last week) for the past few days and have felt the difference between them and my old customs (Livewire dual). I had not felt any pressure in my ears, and it was so comfortable to in wearing them for hours.

Whatever it is, we just go on with whatever brand or type of IEM that we like and enjoy. All will be revealed in the future as to whether this (ADEL) technology really the real deal.

What made you decide to go with the A8? I am planning to go through with the upgrade, but they told me the drivers are the same and they would be reusing my old ones. Because of this, I'm not really sure it's going to be a HUGE difference. I mean, the ADEL portion is different but aside from that I want something that will sound better also. They said it'll sound better, but will it be worth the $500.00 fee or should I just get a different one... Decisions!

The fatigue for me is real as I use these only for entertainment. I usually use my IEMs for music and movies when I travel, so there's that if it makes a difference.

I have the U6 and to my ears there is already plenty of bass on the U6, I can't imagine what the U8 is going to sound like if it is the enhanced bass version of the U6.

IMO, the U6 is not really flat or reference, it is slightly on the bassy side (I personally don't mind a warmer sound signature and so I quite like it, and certainly don't regret getting it at the Kickstarter price), but I imagine the U8 will really bring the boom if you are into quality bass.

If you are into a more objectively flat  sound, I am not so sure any of the 64 IEMs are going to give that to you (instead consider spending the same amount of money on a UERM or something like that).

Based on the ugrade scheme, I think the U6/A6 are based on the V6-Stage, whereas the U8/A8 are based on the V8.

Any feedbacks on the U5 ?

U5 is a bit of an unusual beast. Its a quad high one mid/low. As you can imagine, it focuses more on a revealing sort of signature. But true to 64 audios sound, the U5 still has a decent bit of punch to its low end, just not to the extent of the other models.

Definitely more of a niche product and not as easy of a product to fall in love with compared to something like the 6 or 12, which just has such a lovable signature. There will be those looking for the U5 though, maybe ety fans?

Hello Everyone,

I am a long time lurker here on Head-Fi and I am extremely interested in 64 Audio's products.  I am the type who always requires an explanation and visual proof of a technology.  The ADEL innovation is one that really piques my interest.  I've seen the videos as well as the purported information regarding its benefits.  What I haven't seen is an audiologist or even someone outside of 64 Audio, with a background in hearing protection, who believes the ADEL does what the company says it does.

What I'd like to ask is, if someone with a proper background, can you please explain to me, and whoever else would like to know, the science behind the ADEL module.  I don't see how the module isn't just a way to control leakage out of a tube.  Wouldn't the same benefit that is purported exist if the module was completely removed?  Now, if there wasn't some leakage, when the diaphragm moves inwards towards the ear, wouldn't that apply pneumatic pressure against the ear drum causing time smear and neglect any hearing protection proclaimed within the technology.

To me, the ADEL modules look just like a dynamic driver (speaker) used in universal IEMs.  Is the module just a dynamic driver without the motor -  like a passive radiator in a speaker system?  Why do the modules cost $100 and $200 if that is the case?  There are dynamic driver IEMs for dollars that exist today.

I don't get the science, please help.  Thanks posters!  I'm glad to finally join the community here on Head-Fi.

Hi,

Regarding the ADEL module, I can explain to you how it works if you would like, and yes I will not dispute its effect on the sound. However, my medical training (as well as discussions with some ENT specialists) have left me thoroughly convinced that the ADEL module does NOT protect hearing in any way whatsoever. Anyone who is interested to know more feel free to PM me :)

Again, I am not saying the new A series is bad. On the contrary, I have them to be a marked improvement over the old V series, and I personally like quite a few models, but with regards to the claims on protecting hearing, I'm sorry but it's completely untrue.

You left the same comment in Twister6's review and it is close to trolling. Start a thread and debate what you have surmised based on what others have said. I am a basshead and these don't slam my ear like a dynamic driver does but it sounds very nice.

If you a genuinely concerned then PM the person you quoted instead of openly questioning the tech and then offering to discuss via PM. Can you please just go straight to PM.

Thanks!

I apologise if it may seem that way. I hate trolls and I do not have any of that intention at all.

My intention of posting that publicly is simply to share my opinion, that the tech doesn't actually protect hearing (and I don't think sharing an opinion is wrong since this is a forum?) At the same time, I understand that not everyone is so concerned with this, and would rather not bore everyone with a more detailed discussion on this, hence asking anyone interested to PM me.

Once again, as I have mentioned, I feel that the ADEL series has greatly improved on the old V series, and sonically, I have not much to complain about.

I apologise if I might have come across as a troll, that was never my intention :)

I did an un box but camera battery died in middle so I will skip that.
I listened to them and they sound very nice. I am pleasantly surprised. They are a lot smaller in the body then the pics indicate and are maybe smaller than the 2.5 and that is awesome.

welcome maaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnn

i always love seeing you in threads that i invested in after careful extensive review reading and decision making
