...Obviously. That's why I said "above a certain threshold of decency." I already said this at the beginning of my OP.
 
What I'm saying is that I would rather listen to some good entry level hifi speakers in a treated room than listen to $10,000 speakers in a concrete box.
 
P.S. Aside from lack of isolation from noise, I don't imagine a large room with open spaces would be the most terrible acoustic environment at all, since there are less and farther away reflective surfaces.

Meh. $135 unit basically. Nothing out there. It's just what you think it is. Desktop O2 with Burr Brown op amp and CS flagship DAC

Holy crap guys, I'm powering 2x 8Ω Large bookshelf speakers in my living room with the Objective 2
And it sounds absolutely fine!
It's only at 6x gain, 12 o'clock volume.
 
Looks like I over estimated the power needed to power speakers lol
