I'm considering purchasing the Grado SR325i's. I'm assuming to get full benefit I'll need to amplify them. I'd appriciate words of wisdom from any Head-Fi'r who own the 325i's. Amp, no amp, what amp? Price is a consideration since the 325i's are not inexpensive, however I do want them to perform.

What's the sifference between the old model Grado 325 and the newer 325i?

Is there any difference in sound between the black housing and the wood one for a potential 325i upgrade? The wood seems to only match well with other wood, but the driver housing is gold metallic on the 325i.
