The UD100 is a nice transparent DAC, although it does run down my phone battery a lot faster than listening from the headphone jack does.
 
The slim is a pretty good match for the sound signature you're looking for. I wouldn't go as far as to say the highs are harsh, but they do pair well with the 334. The Slim is not 100% hiss free, but the hiss only starts around 50% of max volume, and that is pretty loud with most sources. If you listen at low volumes I would consider it pitch black, but if you're incredibly sensitive to this I would audition before buying.
 
The 2Stepdance is even better in terms of hiss when used on high gain mode (music volume is louder in this mode, but hiss levels do not change vs. low gain). This amp has a smoother top end though, so probably not quite what you're looking for.

Thanks alot for the info. Seems like pico slim is the way to go for me. I don't listen loud so I am fine with 50% of the volume most of the time. Can you try and connect the USB to pico slim directly with S3? Will it work?  I like the dragonfly dac but heard it don;t work with S3 connected directly due to probaly insuffcient power. Also can you show a pic of your gear, looks like I may need to follow your footstep. I am currenly using an inline volume controller now with fitear 334 to counter that hiss.
 
Also thanks Ue lover, temporarymyname and saraguie. I am also looking at the lockerton and I belive they have quite a few choice to buit one. Which built will give the best high (treble).

Interesting. I am using iPhone 4S with ALAC & 320 mp3 files. Tried with go vibe and other portable amp. Not much difference to these ears. Next tried small tips to shove in deep. Heinous. To much flabby bass. Sony hybrids also seemed to detract from sound. Medium tips make all the difference. So amazing with correct fit.

I asked the owner of the Leckerton I used he says "209 was the one that I switched out and is the most revealing. To me it is the most fatiguing (treble). So if he's after that go for it with the Stock Op-Amp."
 
I listened with two different op-amps. He is saying go with the stock one.

Saraguie, yeah, the UD100 is a USB DAC. The Galaxy S3 supports USB audio output with certain DACs, and the UD100 works fine. It's the small yellow thing in the photo.
 
Audiowood, yeah, I use the Pico Slim with the UD100 plugged directly into the S3. It works fine, but it does increase battery usage significantly.
 
Here's a photo of my setup. I just got the UD100 a couple days ago, so my cables aren't ideal. This could be far more compact with some tweaking. I'm thinking of removing the USB connector from the UD100 and wiring the cable on directly, then connecting the UD100 to the Pico Slim with a direct mini-mini adapter. This will be a great, pocketable setup!

As much as I love the Leckerton amp and can easily recommend it in most cases, I wouldn't recommend it for Audiowood's stated purpose.  It is not a treble tilted amp.  I have the stock opa 209 and while I find it extremely revealing  and transparent with an utterly black backround, it's not going to help make the TG334 brighter or bring more treble presence. What the Leckerton does is give you a very clean signal and remove itself from the equation, so unless your source is bright, I don't see it helping you.

Here is a pic of the SPC version of the BTG-Audio Sunrise cable.  Soon to follow is a FitEar version that will look just like this.  I'm particularly looking forward to it, as the Sunrise memory wire section is a very good length and I think it will help hold the bulky TG334 housings in place better.  I like the stock cable but it's memory wire doesn't have much memory...

How about skipping the Pico slim entirely in that picture, you just tape the UD100 to the back of your phone and connect the MH334 directly?  Adjust volume in a media player like Neutron, with upsampling and dither.

Do you have a recommendation for Audiowood? I'd like to know too.

Ok thanks for trouble, I appreciate it. Sounds like leckerton may be the choice.. Harsh and pitch black is what I think will go very well with fitear.. Now gotta order it and test it out.

Unfortunately I don't have one.  Once I left the Fiio's of the world behind, I've only steered towards neutral amps like the Leckerton and O2.  Average Joe and ClieOS have tried many more amps and they might have a good recommendation.

Yeah will this work? Connect directly to s3? This will be the ultimate portability. Dragon fly failed, hope this works..

At the risk of derailing this thread, might you have a quick word on the O2 vs the leckerton? I'm buying one when they're back in stock but I'm wondering if I should bother. You could use the FitEar as a comparison to stay on topic if you'd like. Thanks!
