This unit that I currently have is supervised by HIDIZS and i was chosen to be part of the Philippines tour of the HIDIZS X0, which gave me the opportunity to test this device thoroughly, without this opportunity iI would not have had a chance to try out this product.so I am very thankful to HIDIZS.
I didn't gain any form of incentives in this review, and all opinions are my own.

Introduction

20230520_125655.jpg

I am very excited to test the HIDIZS X0, The main reason is the RGB function it has which I find unique and interesting. Kidding aside for a Dac/Amp in the market, HIDIZS has been known for its high-quality devices and adding a switch for the RGB Function just adds to the appeal. But some might find it not necessary or even distracting, so it's all up to personal preference. So let's dive into the features, design, and sound quality of the HIDIZS X0.

Features and Functionality

20230520_195337.jpg

The HIDIZS X0 somewhat resembles an electronic cigarette or the most common term for it is the word Vape. Other reasons is becuase of the design of the Dac/Amp which features a rectangular shape and is small enough to fit in your pocket. In terms of functionality here are the functions of the X0.
  • Circular button for Digital Sound filters which has an indicators or blue and red, Blue color has more pronounce mid frequency while the red one emphasizes more on low frequency-
  • A (x) switch for the RGB Function which lets you choose between different colors to light up the Dac/Amp.
Thats basically the function of this Dac/Amp. Also before i forget this has no hardware volume control but instead makes use of the volume controls of whatever device it is plugged into.
=================
Now lets Proceed with the features of the HIDIZS X0. So here is the following features of the HIDIZS X0 Dac/Amp:
  • The HIDIZS X0 supports PCM decoding up to 32-bit/384kHz, as well as DSD256 Decoding. This means that it can deliver high-resolution audio for an immersive listening experience.
  • The X0 is compatible with various devices, such as smartphones, laptops, and tablets that support USB OTG.
  • This has dual ESS SABRE ES9219C*2 dac chip which gives superior audio quality that enhances the listening experience.

=================
This also has color indications for different kind of music formats

  • Blue: PCM 192KHz
  • Red: PCM 384KHz
  • Yellow: DSD64-DSD256
  • Orange: MQA unfolding which supports upto 16x

Drive Type: Power

20230520_130015.jpg

If your confuse what is this all about, Its basically the power output that the HIDIZS X0 can deliver. The X0 can deliver a power output of up to 195mW for a balanced connection and 78mW for single ended. This has an impedance of 32ohms for both connections mentioned above. In my mobile phone I am reaching a maximum of -31.8db with the X0, indicating that it can provide a significant power boost to my mobile setup, meanwhile in my pc setup I am reaching a maximum of 12-14% volume also this depends on the track and IEM but mostly thats the volume i am able to reach with the HIDIZS X0. Overall , the HIDIZS X0 provides enough power to drive most headphones and delivers a clear and crisp audio output.

Sound Signature

The HIDIZS X0 Dac/Amp has a Neutral Analytical sound signature that delivers an accurate, detailed, and transparent sound output. The dual ESS SABRE ES9219C*2 dac chip in the HIDIZS X0 adds to its superior audio quality, enhancing the listening experience by providing a wide soundstage and precise imaging. Also this has natural timbre with good separation between different instruments and vocals. Additionally, the HIDIZS X0 has digital sound filters that can be adjusted using the circular button to enhance the audio output according to personal preferences.
=================

Bass

The bass response of the HIDIZS X0 is tight and controlled, producing a clean and accurate low frequency output. It does not overpower the midrange or treble frequencies, providing a balanced and natural sound. It does have great sub-bass rumble and impact, making it enjoyable.
=================

Mids

The midrange of the HIDIZS X0 is detailed and well-defined, with a neutral and transparent output. Vocals and instruments are accurately reproduced, providing a clean and natural-sounding audio output.Listeners can easily distinguish between different instruments in a song, with clear separation and no muddiness.
=================

Treble

The treble response of the HIDIZS X0 is clear and detailed, with a neutral extension It does not produce any harshness or sibilance, providing a smooth and enjoyable listening experience. Brillance is also great it gives that sparkle in the sound, making it feel alive and dynamic.
=================

Technical

This has an impressive technical performance and while doing this impression I already fell in love to its technical capabilities. The HIDIZS X0 has a high level of detail retrieval and accuracy, making it suitable for critical listening. Soundstage is wide and has great layering and separation between different instruments. Imaging is impressive, with instruments and vocals placed accurately in the sound field.

Conclusion

Disclaimers

First of all this is my first time to experience a mid tier DAP and also I am not famillar with the other features of the HIBY R6 Pro II but i will give my best to give it an honest feedbacks.

This unit that I currently have is supervised by hiby and I was chosen to be part of the Philippines tour of the HIBY R6 pro II, which gave me the opportunity to test this device thoroughly.

I didn't gain any form of incentives in this review, and all opinions are my own.

Packaging

343836951_946463443440291_814304931415052103_n.jpg

To keep it short here is the things that are included in the package.
  • Usb C to C cord
  • Instruction manual
  • Specialized Case for the Dap
  • Screen protector- ( Firm plastic type)
  • The Player itself
By the way this is just a recommendation, I wish that they included some adapter for the USB C to C cable since not all users may already have an adapter for that, but overall the packaging is well-rounded and everything you need to get started with the device is included

Build Quality and Design

341277485_1300405307489948_3111001188653596373_n.jpg

The Hiby R6 PRO II has a solid and premium feel to it, with its aluminum body and sleek design. I like the wavy designs in the back also the carbon design it gives it an edgy and modern look. The buttons and ports are well-placed and easy to access. It has some color indications which i will explain later, and overall i like the design and the build of this player.

Features and Light indicator

341588455_240240251829862_8268385977943794568_n.jpg

This has native DsD support of 1024 and PCM upto 1536khz, if your a fan of MQA format the HIBY PRO R6 II can decode it upto 16x which is really helpful. This next feature is what I am suprised an amp in a DAP, and its my first time to experience an amp the type of amps used was Class A and Class AB. I personally love the Class A more compare to AB as it produces better sound quality, but both were impressive. This has some rgb functions and the purpose of it is to show you the music format you're currently playing. Since I already mentioned the rgb lightings, so here is the meaning of each color. This has bluetooth capabilities but unfortunately i can't test it due to not having any bluetooth devices. This also have an expansion sd card slot upto 2TB
  • Yellow Green- PCM ( Consists of: MP3,AAC,WAV, 24Bit/48khz)
  • Aquamarine- Hi-Res( 32bit,96khz,192khz,384khz)
  • White-DSD
  • Green-MQA
  • Blue-Standby mode
  • Red- charging mode

Ports and hardware buttons

341334115_6857220707628650_3284636464536795287_n.jpg

This has 4 audio ports and a type-c port for charging and data transfer. In terms of the hardware buttons here is the list of the buttons.
  • Power button
  • Volume up and down buttons
  • Playback control buttons (play/pause, skip forward, skip back).
Now lets talk about the ports that i mentioned, so here is the following ports you can expect in the HIBY R6 PRO II
  • 4.4mm balanced line out
  • 4.4mm balance output
  • 3.5mm line out
  • 3.5mm power output
  • Type C with 10gpbs transfer rate and charging

UI interface

341854452_252485083843535_8856558370775400941_n.jpg

Its very snappy and clean and everything you need is already shown in the homescreen, If your famillar with slide gestures then it will be just a piece of cake. but if your use to the tradditional touch navigation buttons. adjustments will be needed to adapt to the gesture style navigation. In general the UI is very easy to understand and very responsive to gestures.

Operating System

341257973_967390941082240_6908017823623767283_n.jpg

The HIBY R6 PRO II runs on android 12 and there is no restrictions you can modify and install the apps you like. The only app you can't remove or disable is the hiby app itself including hiby cast server, file manager, and settings but the rest you can do what you want. In general the HIBY R6 PRO II has an operating system which has no restrictions and its free to modify software.

Charging Time

Even though is an audio dedicated device, you also need to know that this is very slow in terms of charging but its acceptable if your not in a hurry or just in your home. but if your traveling or going to commute then it may holdback since again this is very slow.

Battery Optimization

In terms of battery, this has a 5000 mh/ah battery capacity even though it has that kind of capacity. it drains quickly and by the way I am using high gain, but even though i still wish that it was optimized properly.

Screen Display

Even at full brightness, it still feels dim when you're close to the sun or other bright areas. but if your just in your house or indoors the brightness is acceptable. In general speaking the display will not handle the outside shine of the sun even at max settings.

Sound Signature

After doing some long assessments The HIBY R6 PRO II has that base of being balanced-neutral or warm-neutral. The sound base is really good for pairs that lacks that bass and the neutral will help to amplify the set more, so it may sound confusing but don't worry i will explain it shortly. In general explanation this is more on passive and offensive way of approach since this has a balanced-neutral signature and warm neutral.

Amps

This has two different amp style and the first one is the Class A then the second one is Class AB, if your confuse what is the meaning of both amps well i also don't know. but based on my reearch Class A is like uncompressed while the AB is compressed. For the sound I like the A more compare to AB since A has more tonality while AB is more on engaging sound.

Bass

It has that punch and tightness and becuase of that it gives more flavor to the engaging factor of this spectrum. For example the track of Get into the Abyssmare by Abyssmare the bass is super satisfying and it gives that fullness and makes it even better. Sub-bass is really good its very energetic also it hast that flavor of being lively, For example the Track of Winner by Abyssmare the rumble is so energetic and aggressive. Mid-bass is very great it gives that texture which also has great body. It also adds warmness to the sound which is prominent in the vocals, for example villian vibes by mori calliope and amalee. In general The bass is very engaging and very lively also that tightness makes it even better.

Mids

The mids are very great it has that flavor of sugar and spice, instruments are well presented with great emphasis on the vocals. The presentation is very clear and bright. Female vocals has that emotion and feel which is prominent in the track while the Male vocals its more on pleasing factor. In general the mids made me move becuase it super sweet and very clear and transparent.

Treble

I like how the emphasis on the brightness is more on natural and not forced. since in my previous reviews some of it the brightness was forced or too much emphasis on it but this one is very refreshing. The extension is great it does not give any forms of peak and sibbilance which is I like since my ears are very sensitive in too much high frequencies. In general the treble has that outstanding performance and can give more colors to the sound.

Technical

So lets start with sound stage the performance is average since it lacks the space for other instruments to shine and it has a feel of cramped room. instrument seperation is average it lacks that precision and accuracy. imaging is decent voices and other instruments can be heard but not that prominent.

Closing

I really enjoy the HIBY R6 PRO II alot .but I guess we will part ways since this is only a tour unit and not my personal unit so until we meet again my friend.

HIBY CRYSTAL 6: Entering the Final Phase

Disclaimers

This unit that I currently have is supervised by hiby and i was chosen to be part of the Philippines tour of the HIBY Crystal 6 , which gave me the opportunity to test this device thoroughly.

I didn't gain any form of incentives in this review, and all opinions are my own.

We all have different ways on how we hear sound so your millage may vary

This will be the shortest review I have done

Introduction

346110909_796149261822307_3185072458686945224_n.jpg

Since I only have limited time to test this set, My impression will be short and also will serve as my review. In my short time with the Crystal 6-II, I already fell in love to its sound signature for an all Balance Armature Drivers it really impressed me since at First I thought this has a Dynamic Drivers becuase the feel of the Bass.

Sound Signature

I will be straight to the point, This has a warm leaning to balance kind of sound signature

Bass

The bass on the HIBY Crystal 6 is tight and controlled, with a nice impact that doesn't overpower the other frequencies. This also has that fast attack and decay which means it can keep up with fast-paced tracks without any distortion.

Mids

It has that warm feeling to it, but still detailed and clear. Vocals are well-presented and instruments are separated nicely, making it easy to distinguish each instrument in the mix.

Treble

The treble on the HIBY Crystal 6 is well-extended and detailed without being harsh or sibilant but has an occurence to have peak at some frequencies in higher volumes, which may bother some listeners.

Technical

In terms of tehcnical performance I can say thats its on average. Sound Stage is average and imaging is good but could have been better. Seperation is good but could be better.

Conclusion

346104491_1229440771091458_5850698322277625580_n.jpg

The set is more on tonality rather than the technical aspects of sound, making it suitable for those who prefer a warm and balanced sound signature.

- decent noteweight
Cons: - decent technicalities

QKZ HBB 2.png

𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬
I would like to thank Linsoul Audio and Mr. Eiji Romero for organizing the tour of the QKZ x HBB and for providing me with the opportunity to take part in it. Thank you very much.
-------
𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠
In my experience, this is my first exposure to a collaborative tuning done by one of the most popular audio reviewers on YouTube, who is known as HBB or HawaiiBadboy. It is my first time hearing this. the brand QKZ was known for its budget sets, such as the AK6 and others, but recently they decided to step up and make this set and I will tell you that this is a decent start for Qkz, which I will discuss later on. In other words, buckle up and get ready for this heavy ride, and start your engines.
-------
𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬
It includes the drivers and the cable itself, which is equipped with a 2-pin QDC connector and the default plug of the cable is 3.5 mm. The drivers are provided in the box together with a variety of eartips and the cable itself. For me, this cable is a very common one since I always encounter it, especially in this price range. The packaging in gatcha is not bad as far as looks go, it is on a common tier. That's basically all, so that's it for me
-------
𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞/𝐓𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲
Firstly, I don't think the sound suits my personal preferences because it has that warm-v shape sound that is very targeted at bass lovers and in shoert bass-heads, but if you're someone who likes the bass you may like the sound. Male vocals will benefit from the bass since its really emphasize on the overall track.
-------
𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐬
It has a strong punch and thrump and this type of bass is usually favored by bass lovers because it has a lot of impact, but I consider this bass right at the borderline between bad and good since it has this punch and impact that makes it very appealing to me. Subbass also has that heavy penetration because it has that impact and punch. Midbass has some bleed, but it is fine, since it is aimed at bass lovers. However, I am not a fan of it.
------
𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐬
Since it is a warm sound that has a V-shape, I would consider this acceptable, but in my opinion, this would not fit me as my preference is for mids in my music. However, in spite of the fact that the overall mids presentation is recessed and the violin sounds weak to no emotion at all, the overall sound is acceptable for an overall warm, V shape sound. This bass will have a heavy noteweight and will benefit male vocals, whereas the female vocals might sound weak because of the bass.
-------
𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐥𝐞
As a matter of fact, it is on average pretty good. It has that brillance, but not enough for my tastes, but it may do the trick for some people. However, for me, it was not a song that impressed me at all. While it does have a bit of detail, it also lacks for me. However, for casual listeners, it will be enough for you to enjoy. Sibilance factor is almost to none which is i like. Peak factor is usually depends on the track and volume of your audio source i only encounter it when i accidentally increased my volume and when the track is more on energetic side.
-------
𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐲𝐩𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡
Firstly, the soundstage is a little disappointing as the width and layering are small and need more refinement, the stage is extremely congested, and other instruments have a hard time being heard due to the cluttered space. The imaging of the HBB x Qkz is average as it cannot handle too many busy tracks since it is not capable of that. In general, the technical aspect of the HBB x Qkz is passable for casual listeners, but if you wish for technical performance, this is not for you.
-------
𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐲𝐩𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫
Its very easy to unleash its true sound potential even your typical smartphone can juice it up but with a better dac/dongle it can improved more.
-------
𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠
The set itself is not bad at all, but given that QKZ is trying to step up, which I commend them for doing, and the sound is passable for casual listeners, I know my closing will be short versus in my past reviews where I would have made it longer, but the set just isn't for me, and that's that.

I would like to thank Ms. Elle Zhou From BQEYZ Audio and also Sir Levi Loo of Brionced Reviews for arranging this Tour and giving me an opportunity to be in it (Thank you very much!).
-------
𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠
This season series of BQEYZ has been released for a second time and this one titled "BQEYZ Winter", is the last in the series, since science teaches that there are only four seasons: Spring, Autumn, Summer, and Winter. This is the last in the series, and so from here on out, there will no new releases in the Season Series for BQEYZ Audio. You know what I wish that I have an opportunity to test the other seasons but it's a good opportunity to test this season.
-------
𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬
For now, I will focus on the packaging and the contents, because it has a lot of interesting contents inside. There is an excellent presentation of the packaging since it has the mechanism of a book where you flip the cover to open the box. As far as the packaging and the cover are concerned, it is visually appealing and it is very attractive. Now let's talk about what is inside the box. Inside are the following,
a pair of BQEYZ Winter IEMs, a four-core 0.78mm 2-pin Single crystal copper-plated silver cable with a straight 3.5mm termination plug. an ear tips organizer plate. 3 pairs of "Atmosphere" ear tips of different standard sizes. 3 pairs of "Reference" ear tips of different standard sizes. 3 pairs of new narrow-bored matte finish ear tips of different standard sizes. a pair of memory foam ear tips. Cleaning tool. a hardbound zippered IEM case. a velcro cable organizer.some paperwork like quality control card and instruction manuals. So many included in the box and honestly, it is a good approach to its price range.
-------
𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞/𝐓𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲
As a general description, the sound of this is more on the neutral to balanced side and is adaptable to any genre it also has the in-house sound of BQEYZ, which places a higher emphasis on soundstage and technicalities. As I said, I like the tuning, to the point that it took me a while to realize that it was already midnight. I am writing this review in the afternoon lol. It has a great sound signature and will keep you listening to your music for a long time without getting tired. It produces good bass that is clean and punchy and the midrange is also very detailed with good clarity. This is the ideal IEM for everyone including audiophiles and music enthusiasts alike. As I stated earlier, it has a neutral signature but is versatile enough to cater to different genres of music.
-------
𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐬
As far as the bass is concerned, it suits my taste perfectly, as the Sub-Bass is focused on this set. While it still has that rumble, it does not sound overly aggressive as it is with many bass-heavy tuned sets. Overall, I really enjoy the bass because it has a fast decay, has quality bass, and does not sound bloated or bleed. The mid-bass has a sense of authority to it, and the transient response is just as fast as it should be. Overall, I really like the bass.
-------
𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐬
It is the overall sound of the mids of this pair that stands out as the most distinctive feature of this pair. The mids are well-balanced and well-integrated with the rest of the spectrum. As a result, vocals and other instruments in the mid-range are clean and crisp sounding. The separation of instruments in the mids is great; it helps in giving these tracks a more immersive feel. It has a great warmth to the vocals making it more exciting to hear. I am super impressed with the sound of the violin in this pair because it brings out the natural sound of the strings and how it echoes throughout the soundstage. The feel of the violin is like hearing it live in a crowded hall surrounded by screaming fans. Each note is crystal clear making it authentic. At higher volumes, there is an upper mid boost which can make the sound distorted but in your typical volume, it's very fine. The overall mids reminds me of release the Spyce I know that I used an anime reference but it is what it is lol.
-------
𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐥𝐞
Even though this is my first time hearing a set with a Bone-Conduction system, I was very surprised by the overall quality of the sound. The extension of the highs is very satisfying in my ears and it gives a lot of details and clarity. In terms of brilliance, it is great since it feels natural and not that artificial feeling. This is subjective and source dependent, if you increase the volume it might sound irritating since it's very boosted but I won't put this as a con since this is not that big deal for me and I don't mind it that much. Generally, the highs are very even and there is no dominant frequency which is usually the sign of a 'bright' sounding set.
-------
𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐲𝐩𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡
as for the technical performance, its above average. The winter has great imaging i can locate instruments and vocals clearly with definition and precision. Sounstage is also above average it has great depth and atmoshpre. Seperation is above average vocals and instruments are well presented with great clarity and definition. macro and micro details are presented with not being harsh or fatiguing.
-------
𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦
The winter features a Bone conduction sytem infused with other driver. Which means that the sound produced by the system is transmitted through the jaw bone directly to the inner ear. In my experience i felt it but not much; it was more of a subtle vibration than actual audio.
-------
𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐲𝐩𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫
I am using my balance cable with 4.4mm port and i can say that it manage to bring out more powerful sound but the stock cable 3.5mm is also good and really good for the price you pay !. Its very easy to drive but with a more powerful source the winter will benefit to it. If your a casual listener and have a budget Dac the winter can still sound full even with any source you have.
-------
𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠
This somewhats reminds me of my favorite V-Tuber which is
Hoshimachi Suisei becuase her songs and vocal range are very excellent and also the sound of the winter is very like her since the winter has very excellent vocals and overall tonality. I do wish that i can extend my time with the winter but unfortunately this is not mine and i am going to miss the winter dearly since they are amazing in sound and design.

KBEAR ORMOSIA: EXCITE
Pros: Great Balanced U-Shape sounding with smooth treble
Very light build and very comfortable in the long run
Decent treble extension
KBEAR is generous with its accessories and packaging feel
Two-way style, either earbuds or earphone style
Decent bass performance
Very easy to drive
Cons: For its price, it has a decent technical aspect. I wish KBEAR had stepped it up, but I am not complaining. Its still suites my personal preference
The cable easily tangles up. I have a hard time untangling the cord.
I wish that KBEAR Included a cleaning brush.

Disclaimers

This Hobby is very subjective, and we have different tastes and likes for our sound.
I want to thank KEEPHIFI and Sir Eiji Romero. for arranging this tour and allowing me to test this unit.
We have different hearing ranges, so expect different outcomes.
I don't consider myself a professional but a casual guy who likes his Hobby.

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to my IEM review; I will review a product from KBEAR, and it's called the Ormosia. So without further ado, let us start.
It was my third time experiencing their products; the first was the Larks, and the second was the INK. Now, this is the third one, which is the Ormosia.

Background about me and personal taste in music.

I am a student and, currently, a hobbyist in the audio world. My sound library Comprises more anime songs and Jpop artists (but not all artists). To all my fellow anime fans, even otaku or weeb, expect me to put anime references in my reviews.

Personal Sound Preference

I am more balanced-neutral to mid-centric. Sometimes I also listen to U-Shape sounding.

Build Design and Cable.

305687232_1091310501519536_375201449648615742_n.jpg

The KBEAR Ormosia reminds me of the AKG earbuds from the Samsung S10 freebie. The design and feel are similar. Still, I like the Ormosia more because it's more light in my ears. The Ormosia has a metallic silver finish to its body. The KBEAR Ormosia has a very sturdy build. Everything is pure metal.
305790391_550537346874973_6756365862043955646_n.jpg

This pair has a connector of MMCX, and for its price, I guess it is the first to have an MMCX connector.
The cable is average; it reminds me of the old cables of KZ, and the cable type is SPC. The term for it is a silver-plated cable. It has an L-Shaped style connection of 3.5mm.

Packaging

306161407_5448683785185199_7984282845384455963_n.jpg

KBEAR is a company that is generous since they give a lot of accessories. Inside the box are the following.

  • A pair of KB Ear Ormosia IEMs.
  • A 4-core SPC cable with an L-shape 3.5mm termination plug.
  • A hard-bound brown IEM leather case is somewhat significant for me.
  • Five pairs of ear tips in different standard sizes and bore sizes, and these are high-quality ear tips.
  • A cloth clipper.
  • A basic instruction manual.
306216669_1116327248990048_1871034023326837816_n.jpg

Fit and comfort

307040981_1120673738539698_5515180235675509326_n.jpg

In my ears, it is very comfortable, and I didn't find it to be irritating in my ears. But some ears might be uncomfortable since this has a narrow stem. At first, it was confusing to put it in the ears, but it's now fine after adjusting.

Drivability and Driver setup

306000588_625403382481383_239247541953130332_n.jpg

it is effortless to drive. In my Abigail Dac, my setup is only 15-18; on my Es-Pro 9318, my setup is only 16-20. It is a hybrid setup consisting of one Balanced Amature and one Dynamic Driver. In short, it is 1DD+1BA.

Sound Signature

According to my hearing and ears, This has a mild U-Shape and is warm sounding. It is one of my favorites if more casual and fun without damaging your ears. It's not source dependent but if you have a better start, use it since this will improve its sound.

Setup Configuration

Before I describe the sound components of the KBEAR Ormosia, here is my setup for this review.
  • Abigail Dac - 15-20%
  • ES-Pro 9318- 16-22%
  • Roon Music Player-Exclusive Mode
  • Kbear-07 ear tips
  • Stock cable
Regarding sound enhancers or EQ, I don't use them in my reviews since it alters the authentic sound of the IEM and makes it saturated. Now, let's dissect the Bass, Mids, Treble, and Technicalities.

Bass

It's very prominent but more on the average side. If you're looking for the thump, it's average. It's not that very focused. The sub-bass is not that deep it's audible but weak. Midbass has decent texture but tends to bleed but not too much; it's minimal. In general, the bass elevation is balanced.

Mids

As mentioned earlier, its gentle U-shape has a slight recession to the mids. As mentioned earlier, Both vocals and instruments benefit from the warm and lush texture this pair gives. Violin is one of my favorite instruments. And I have experienced playing this instrument. Now, if I were to ask if the Violin sounds good in this pair, my answer would be it sounds good. I gave it a good marking because it has the quality of being soft and calm. Even though it sounds smooth and relaxed, it still has that lush emotion I want in a violin. For casual and Anime music, this is good. In general, the mids of this pair remind me of the battle between Queen and Kurumi from the date a bullet spinoff. With my personal preferences and is passable for me.

Treble.

I like what KBEAR did in this section. It has a significant presence but not too much, making it transition from peak to smooth. As mentioned about the peak, it's not that fatiguing and very controlled. It has no sibilance, and I can confirm it because it's very evident in the track.

Overall Technicalities

The soundstage is average, but regarding how wide the soundstage is, it's above average for me. For me, I gave it above average because it lacks depth; it has depth but still lacks for my liking. When it comes to imaging, it is decent. It's passable for my taste. I can somewhat locate the instruments but not that precise. Detail retrieval is average; I find it lacking for my taste. In general, the details of this pair are decent but weak.

Conclusion

If I want to chill and be EXCITE, this will be one of my go-to pairs, but it may differ for some ears since we have different hearing and perceptions of sound.

Final Ratings:

My ratings are more on Anime and Kamen rider series I have already watched.

Bass: 4/5

It has a vibe of Kamen rider opening, which is Climax Jump. The bass has a climactic entrance but not that engaging form like deep sub-bass and textured mid-bass.

Mids: 4.2/5

This one reminds me of the Kamen rider Build opening: Be the one. Mids has a slight recession. My only issue is that Violin sounds soft and calm. But even though it's like that, it still has the elements of the Violin I want, which is emotion.

Treble: 4/5

No references this time; it is safe for casual listeners and those sensitive to treble. I recommend adding a bit of air, but overall, it's terrific. And job well done, KBEAR, for controlling the treble.

Overall Technicalities:3/5

No, references this time for this price range. This pair has proper technicalities, but if we compare it to the meta, this can somewhat compete but is not that dominant.

IMPEDANCE: 16Ω
SENSITIVITY: 105dB
FREQUENCY RESPONSE: 20Hz – 20KHz

MUSEHIFI POWER: Drive It Up
Pros: For me, this plannar needs only minimal power but even if it needs minimal power, it still demands power. In the title, I say Drive It Up which means it can even sound properly or better with power sources.
For me, this is U-Shape but it can somewhat handle some genres that I listen to.
Great bass performance it has that punch and texture that I like.
Package and freebies. like a set of eartips and cleaning brush, there are of high quality.
The design looks like butterscotch(Subjective)
Decent Cable
Decent Technical aspect
Cons: Treble sensitives might find these set unpleasant. Since this has an upper mid peak.
Smartphones with low-quality DAC implementation or AMP. The sound output will be not that great since Planar IEMS needs power but in a good implementation.
Huge and Chungus shells might be uncomfortable to some ears.
in some tracks, it can sound too peaky and piercing in the ears.
needs some refinement in the treble(Subjective)
MUSEHIFI POWER

INTRODUCTION

Hello Everyone welcome to my Review. Today we will have the MUSEHIFI POWER. This is my first time with the brand; honestly, this set is a new experience for me. Now, let’s start this review with my exciting emotions and take,

Background about me and personal taste in music.

I am a student and currently a hobbyist in the world of audio. When it comes to my sound library. I am more into anime songs and jpop artists (but not all jpop artists). To all my fellow anime fans, even otaku or weeb expect me to put anime references in my reviews by using anime music. The MUSEHIFI POWER somewhat reminds me of Megalo Box.

Personal Sound Preference

mid-centric guy. or neutral balanced with an emphasis in the mids. This Unit of MUSEHIFI POWER somewhat provides some of those aspects; I will explain it further in this review. Since this is a Plannar setup please bear with my review since I don't have that great source to drive this Planar.

Disclaimers.

I would like to thank Sir kent for giving me an opportunity to test this unit.
We have different audio perspective and beliefs
The MUSEHIFI POWER I have is a tour UNIT arrange by kent and sir loo law
I am a hobbyist and budget reviewer so expect that my take are based on my budget setup
All my reviews are my own, I didn’t gain any monetary reward in this review.

Sound Signature

The sound of this pair has a U-Shape sound. This has more emphasis on the bass and treble sections of the spectrum.

Package

inside the box is the following

  • Two sets of Eartips
  • Iem case/pouch
  • Cleaning Brush
  • paper for instructions and warranty
  • 4-core cable with imported high purity single crystal copper wire
  • The Iem itself

Eartips

EARTIPS-1024x768.png

The eartips included in the box are great high-quality eartips. I didn't use the eartips since I used my eartips which are the kbear-07 eartips.

Cable

300043186_616234569839705_1926565611374141969_n-1024x768.jpg

The cable is made out of imported high-purity single crystal copper wire. So in general saying, it has a stock cable made out of copper. It has a 2-pin connector pin.

Lows/bass

The most prominent in the audio spectrum. Since I love anime and Jpop The vibes of the Lows are very engaging it has the punch and speed that I want. It has a great Sub-bass rumble. In the "track Yona Yona Journey / TAKU INOUE & Mori Calliope" I can hear how the sub-bass attacks and slaps. In terms of Mid-bass, it has that texture but has a weak bass punch and kick.

Midrange

I will explain it in Vocals, Instruments, and overall presentation. The female vocals have more extension compared to the male vocals. Both Vocals are evident in the track. The instruments in this pair are good it sounds organic. Violin strings sound realistic. Guitar has sparkle even acoustics has it also. The overall presentation of the mids is leaning on forwarding.

High-pitched range

I like this part of the audio spectrum. It has upper mids extension making it too peaky in some music genres. For treble-sensitive peeps out there it might hurt your precious ears. a hint of Sibilance, but only very minimal it depends on the quality of the track and the production behind it. I like how they extend the Highs it has a feel of Hi-Fi audio Since in detail it shows both macro and micro.

OVERALL TECHNICALITIES

So technical aspects this is the part that I also want in my Iem. Now let's break it up, shall we? Let's start with Soundstage, The stage has above-average wideness and spacing. The imaging is your typical Stereo setup. Stereo is a type of audio channel that consists of two channels. In terms of the placement of vocals and instruments in the Stereo Setup. As a former Violinist, I am having a hard time locating the vocals and instruments in some tracks.

DRIVABILITY

To the people that will buy this pair. and The source is only A Phone with no Decent Dac or Audio Dac implementation. Then Don't Buy it, except for the LG V Series and Some LG G Series. I tried this pair with my OPPO A95 and the Result was A bloody Mess(Gordon Ramsy Voice). In general Planar Pairs need decent sources with Proper Audio Dac Implementation or Amp.

SETUP CONFIGURATION.

  • Abigail Dac- Volume of 20-30%
  • ES-PRO 9318- Volume of 22-32%
  • OPPO A95- Volume of 55-70%
  • Roon exclusive mode in all USB Dac

Eartips

I usually use stock eartips but I am in love with Kbear-07 eartips. The Stock eartips of this pair are good and Any eartips will do.

Closing

Since this is my first time trying planars and my source are substantial. Well, I did my best to review it using my not-that-great sources.

General Advice

Always take care of your ears since this hobby involves our ears.

Proper fit can make the sound better or retain, This also applies to eartips.

Never exceed above 60% of volume, well it depends on the hearing and source.

Clean your ears when using your Audio Gears.

Cable rolling usually depends and is optional. The stock cable will do just fine.

Introduction

Hello Everyone welcome to my Review. Today we will have the KBEAR INK. I already have experience with the brand and honestly, it surprised me with their releases now with this set it’s a new experience for me. Now, let’s start this review with my exciting emotions and take,

Background about me and personal taste in music.

I am a student and currently a hobbyist in the world of audio. When it comes to my sound library. I am more in anime songs and jpop artists (but not all jpop artists). To all my fellow anime fans, even otaku or weeb expect me to put anime references in my reviews by using anime music. The KBEAR INK somewhat reminds me of Release the Spyce lol.

Personal Sound Preference

mid-centric guy. or neutral balanced with an emphasis in the mids. This KBEAR INK does not provide those aspects; I will explain it further in this review.

Disclaimers.

I would like to thank hifigo and sir Eiji Romero for arranging this Tour
We have different audio perspective and beliefs
The KBEAR INK I have is a tour UNIT
I am a hobbyist and budget reviewer so expect that my take are based on my budget setup
All my reviews are my own, I didn’t gain any monetary reward in this review.

Sound Signature

The sound of these pairs is V-Shape according to my ears and sources. Honestly, even if it's V-Shape it feels like not a V-Shape sounding.

Package

1661129495391.png

it has a great Package and unboxing experience. The feel for me is very explosive and extraordinary.

inside the box is the following

  • cleaning cloth
  • cleaning brush
  • IEM leather case
  • Eartips package
  • paper for instructions and warranty
  • 8-core stock cable
  • the iem itself

Eartips

1661129552212.png

Honestly, I didn’t test all the ear tips. since I have the Eartips that I always use. and one of them is KBEAR O7 eartips and it’s included in the eartips package. The KBEAR 07 I have is bought with my money and I didn’t use the ones in the eartips package.

Cable

1661129594503.png

The Stock cable is an 8-Core and honestly, it feels great and is very durable. I am not a cabling expert so I explained it so short lol,

Lows/Bass

The pair has great bass and is very responsive. It has great punch and attack that bass lovers will like. For some, the bass is very overwhelming but for that. I don't have to say since I enjoyed the bass of this pair. Even though I am a former V-Shape listener, I find this pair to have bass bleed in busy tracks and modern tracks.

MIdrange

Since the pair is a V-Shape sounding pair. I expected the KBEAR INK to have recessed midrange. after listening to the pair it's not that recessed it is still hearable. Male vocals have that decent power and depth but it's not that forward in the track. female vocals have forward bright and airy. but it has a feel of being forceful. in terms of instruments string instruments like violin it has a sound metallic and glassy while the acoustic guitar sounds dry it lacks brilliance for me.

High range

it has the sparkle I want in my tracks but I find the sparkle too much making it out of control. In terms of extension, it's decent for me. Treble sensitive might find the treble to be sibilant and peaky. since it has upper mid-peak and it has prominent sibilance in any track

SOUNDSTAGE, IMAGING, SEPARATION, DETAILS

The soundstage is decent. It has average width and space. Imaging it's decent the type is more in stereo setup but in some tracks, it's hard to locate the right placements of instruments and the vocalist. In a band setup explanation sometimes the arrangement is fine at first. but in the long run, it becomes unstable losing momentum, Separation is decent you can somewhat hear the instruments but not clearly the style of it is very congested. Details are somewhat decent macro details are more prominent compared to micro details that are minimal

Closing

For me, this is a fun set and it has the vibes of a party goer for casual use this will be my other choice of set.

Final Remarks

  • Bass: 3/5
  • mids:2.6/5
  • highs:2.8/5

CCA LYRA: The shining Angel
Pros: The design of the pair has a vibe of an expensive set
great fitting in my ears
this can be fun and engaging since this has a musicality aspect
Great Bass presentation and it has control.
soft stock ear tips.
average technicalities.
great for hybrid music genre. like classical infused with electric music.
great for classical or old music genres.
Not bad for its price it can compete with others in this price range.
Cons: even though this is great with hybrid music genres. it does have the sibilance in tracks that are prone to higher frequencies emphasis.
Stock ear tips degrade the overall sound quality of the pair
some instruments sound artificial. For example, the violin feels digital and not realistic. cymbals lock body and detail.
At higher volumes, you can encounter peaks in the upper midrange.
Case(Subjective)
1658068987376.png

Introduction.

Welcome everyone to my review. Don't worry I will make this review fun to read. This will be my first style to put anime references in my reviews to my otaku or anime fans. So without further ado let's start my review of the CCA LYRA.

Anime related to the pair

The pair reminds me of Date A live. The reason is that it reminds me of the encounter between Shido and Miku. Miku wants to shine and recognize her talent but the bad thing is she wants all the attention. in the audio description, the pair has that shiny high. but with too much emphasis, it can be too bad in some aspects.

Personal Sound Preference

mid-centric guy. or neutral balanced with an emphasis in the mids. The LYRA somewhat provides this aspect that I want but not all of it.

Disclaimers.

I didn't gain any monetary reward in this review. My reviews are all mine and based on my experiences.
We have different hearing capacities so expect a different outcome from me.
I am a budget reviewer and I review based on the sources I have as of now.
The unit I have is a review sample from CCA/kz. I would like to thank sir Tyvan lam for giving me an opportunity to review this pair.
Your mileage may (and always, will) vary.

Reasons to buy the CCA LYRA[Pros]

  • The design of the pair has a vibe of an expensive set
  • great fitting in my ears
  • this can be fun and engaging since this has a musicality aspect
  • Great Bass presentation and it has control.
  • soft stock ear tips.
  • average technicalities.
  • great for hybrid music genre. like classical infused with electric music.
  • great for classical or old music genres.
  • Not bad for its price it can compete with others in this price range.

Reasons to avoid the CCA LYRA[Cons]

  • even though this is great with hybrid music genres. it does have the sibilance in tracks that are prone to higher frequencies emphasis.
  • Stock ear tips degrade the overall sound quality of the pair
  • some instruments sound artificial. For example, the violin feels digital and not realistic. cymbals lock body and detail.
  • At higher volumes, you can encounter peaks in the upper midrange.
  • Case(Subjective)

Graph Presentation

1658069419424.png

The graph is from Asterhythmist and I would like to thank Asterhythmist for making the graph of CCA LYRA. Based on the graph presentation. the KZ EDA Balance version and CCA LYRA has similarity in terms of bass presentation. The only difference in the bass for both pairs is the sub-bass. KZ EDA Balance has more sub-bass. In terms of Mids, The KZ EDA Balance has more mids compared to the CCA LYRA. If you want more mids KZ EDA Balance can be your option. In terms of highs, the KZ EDA Balance and CCA LYRA are somewhat similar to each other. The only difference is the CCA LYRA is brighter and has a hint of peaks in higher volumes.

Sound Signature

1658069487938.png

1658069507900.png

Anime References

As mentioned in the Graph a while ago. The pair is somewhat inheriting the style of the KZ EDA Balance. Since this review has a style of anime I will explain this in an anime way. The sound Signature of CCA LYRA reminds me of My Hero Academia and Symphogear. In My Hero Academia, there is an episode where Deku inherits the power of all might and it didn't reflect immediately. It needs adjustments and refinement. in Symphogear first season episode 1, The part where Kanade Amou sings her last swan song to save Hibiki from the verge of death. A shard of Kanade's symphogear combined with the heart of Hibiki.

An audio perspective. the CCA LYRA is like The KZ EDA Balanced. but The CCA LYRA is using the EDA Balance as a foundation and reference. But if you want more info it's more in U-Shaped to balanced. But honestly, I didn't find it to be Balanced its more like a Balanced V-Shape or in short well done Bass.

1658069602017.png

Low-End/Bass

The bass of this pair is somewhat similar to the KZ EDA Balance for me they are both good. The bass of the KZ EDA Balance is more balanced for me. while the CCA LYRA has a feel of being V-Shaped in a good way it's controlled and bodied with great depth and clarity. For bass-head listeners, the KZ EDA Balanced and CCA LYRA can satisfy you. but it's not that too much bass that will shake your ears and head. So, in general, they are pretty good but if you want more bass you can Choose the CCA LYRA.
1658069632230.png

Midrange

I am a mid-range type of listener and this is the part where I really see a big difference. The mids of this pair are recessed a little bit. Even the Midrange is recessed it has fun and musicality. Casual listeners will love it. since the vocals and instruments are very clean and very noticeable. I tested the pair in my gaming and my type of gaming is rhythm games. I am surprised since the vocals and instruments sound great it has great layering. If we compare the pair to the KZ EDA Balanced version, The KZ EDA Balanced Version wins. since it has more mids but the difference is somewhat close to each other. In general, If you are on a budget and want fun and musicality. This pair can be your option. but if you have a budget you can choose the KZ EDA Balance and BQEYZ KC2.
1658069672486.png

High End

I honestly like The Highs of this pair it has that matured extension. but even though it has that matured extension. it still has the hint of Old KZ in House signature. it only occurs in the stock ear tips and at higher than your usual volume. If you wondering what the Old KZ House signature is. It is more in peak and sibilance. This pair has details but for me, it's average for its price. If I am a newcomer in the audio hobby this will amaze but if you're like me and a musician you will feel the treble is somewhat felt artificial.

1658069733159.png

Soundstage, imaging, and separation.

The soundstage of this pair is average for me it's wide but not big enough, Imaging is also average it needs more refinements, separation is somewhat average it still separates decently even in congested tracks.
1658069770001.png

Verdict

The CCA LYRA is really a shining angel. This amazed me and at first, iI think it will sound bad but it proves me wrong it's really good for its price and good for newcomers to the audio hobby.

Closing

I would like to thank KZ/CCA and sir Tyvan Lam for Giving me the chance to review this pair, I appreciated it very much.

BQEYZ TOPAZ: Suprise Drive
Pros: Fun sounding and can be an all-rounder.
Balanced sounding leaning to warm.
Very safe for ears that have low tolerance in higher frequencies.
pleasing mids.
Great bass quality.
Cons: Not a technical set.
Treble may lack air and details to some
Imaging may be better
Separation may be better
Mids are not that engaging unlike with kc2. kc2 has more engaging mids.
female vocals need a bit of emphasis (nitpick)
very safe treble losing the details(subjective)
This is my BQEYZ Topaz review on this website.

My first encounter with BQEYZ Audio is the KC2. when you look at the graph of KC2 it looks weird but BQEYZ proves me wrong since the sound of KC2 is pretty good for me. Now, this is my second encounter with them regarding their new product which is the Topaz.

Background about me and personal taste in music.

I am a student and currently a hobbyist in the world of audio. When it comes to my sound library. I am more in anime songs and jpop artists (but not all jpop artists). I usually play rhythm games for example. Bang dream, D4DJ and OSU.

Anime related to the pair

The topaz reminds me of myriad colors phantom world since this pair has a fun factor in its sound. Like the anime it’s a fun anime with drama and action, This is also the feeling I got with topaz. In general speaking, the topaz feels like I am in a series itself.

Before I start here are my disclaimers

The unit I have is a touring unit and in short loan unit.
I didn’t gain any monetary reward in this review. My reviews are all mine and based on my experiences.
We have different hearing capacities so expect a different outcome from me.
I am a budget reviewer and I review based on the sources I have as of now.

Reasons to buy the Topaz(Pros)

Fun sounding and can be an all-rounder.
Balanced sounding leaning to warm.
Very safe for ears that have low tolerance in higher frequencies.
pleasing mids.
Great bass quality.

Reasons to avoid the Topaz(Cons)

Not a technical set.
Treble may lack air and details to some
Imaging may be better
Separation may be better
Mids are not that engaging unlike with kc2. kc2 has more engaging mids.
female vocals need a bit of emphasis (nitpick)
very safe treble losing the details(subjective)

Personal Sound preference

mid-centric guy. or neutral balanced with an emphasis in the mids. my other sound preference is U-shaped which means an emphasis on the low end and high end.

Build and Design

Open photo

the Topaz is built with resin and the faceplate is made out of aluminum. but even though this is resin and faceplate with aluminum it’s not a cheap plastic resin. it feels like expensive grade plastic resin.

Packaging and accessories

It feels like I am unboxing a phone. Since the box is slim and not that big. Inside the box is a set of ear tips it has two types, bass, and reference it has an included case. The stock cable of the topaz feels like a top-of-the-line cable.

1656948290881.png

1656948303434.png

Sound signature

The topaz sounds warm-balanced in my other sources. while in my OPPO A95 the sound is U-Shaped no dongle for this one.

Lows/Bass

For me, this is an upgrade to the bass response of the KC2. KC2 has that tight and punchy bass but with Topaz, it feels like KC2 with elevated bass with texture. Since the Topaz is a warm-balanced sounding IEM. Sub-bass is punchy for me but for bass-heads that want aggressive sub-bass. this might feel lacking for your taste since the sub-bass of topaz is more controlled and bodied. Mid-bass is also great it does not bleed even on busy kinds of tracks. I tested the topaz with rhythm games that I played. I was surprised since the bass is balanced. in general Both kc2 and Topaz have tight and punchy bass. for me, Topaz is the winner between the kc2 and Topaz.

Mids

This i both kc2 and topaz have great mids. The kc2 has balanced emphasis in the vocals both male and female shine it’s also the same with Topaz. but Topaz has more thick and heavy mids which means male vocals will be happy cause it’s their time to shine. female vocals still shine but have an average presentation. in the track of pop team epic and inner urge by Sumire uesaka. her voice feels lowered but not too much her voice is still expressive but not that expressive with kc2. It is also the same with my OPPO A95 male vocals still win compare to female vocals, Now KC2 or Topaz. both are good in the mids kc2 has lush mids while the Topaz is more on the warm side.

Highs/Treble

Topaz loses here The reason is KC2 has more treble extension and a wide variety of details. but with Topaz the prominent details I can hear are more in macro details. but it still has the presence of micro-details. Topaz lacks the air for both male and female vocals while in the KC2 both Male and Female have air for me. In general KC2 wins here based on my sound.

Soundstage, imaging, and separation

Topaz also loses here, The reason is the soundstage is more on average but with a bit of depth. but in kc2 it’s very wide and has more depth in staging. so for the battle of the soundstage kc2 wins here. Imaging in the topaz is great but not as great with kc2. in kc2 the imaging is well detailed but topaz is not that bad it still can handle heavy busy tracks. like infermata from spotlight kids. battle of imaging kc2 wins. in separation, it’s a close battle but kc2 wins kc2 has more depth in separation.

Final Ratings.

Bass:5/5 happy around!

Mids:3.8/5 almost

New Head-Fier
SHIMIN-LI: FEELING GOOD.
Pros: Great bodied-sounding IEM without losing details for both macro and micro.
Great clean bass presentation and can fill the bass gap in some tracks.
for the price, it's very open and not shy.
Well-built stock cable and very durable with a feel of a custom-made.
Great fit and isolation.
natural mids response.
For the price, it has great technicalities
Great design of the shell
Great ear tips package.
well-built faceplate and body.
Can be an all-rounder IEM
with great aesthetics
according to reviews its the brother of yuan-li
great cable and accessories
great packaging
Cons: if your ears have a low tolerance for treble it can hurt you since this is a bright sounding iem,
at higher volumes, it can have peak
Fingerprint, smudge magnet
lacks a bit of detail and air
no case(nitpick)
cable winder(nitpick)
Before I start here are my disclaimers.
The unit I have is my own unit. I bought the pair at a discount from Tangzu Audio.
I didn't gain any monetary reward in this review. My reviews are all mine and based on my experiences.
We have different hearing capacities so expect a different outcome from me.
I am a budget reviewer and I review based on the sources I have as of now.
This is the full review and the one I posted is only the initial impressions and not the final one.

Background about me and personal taste in music.
I am a student and currently a hobbyist in the world of audio. When it comes to my sound library. I am more in anime songs and jpop artists (but not all jpop artists).

Anime related to the pair
The Shimin-li reminds me of Unbreakable Machine Doll. Since this pair benefits in great power output if you already watched the anime. you will get my explanation but to those people that didn't watch the anime. The main character is Raishin Akabane
who is a puppet master while Yaya is his doll. In audio explanation with great pairing, the pair might improve or sound good.

Personal Sound Preference
My personal sound Preference is more of a mid-centric guy. or neutral balanced with an emphasis in the mids. my other sound preference is U-shaped which means an emphasis on the low end and high end.

Build and Design
1655398938386.png

The shimin-li composes of metal materials. Speaking of metal materials The shimin-li is made out of metal making it heavy and durable. The shimin-li has fins at first I was scared since it might hurt my ears but it didn't hurt mine. The design of shimin-li reminds red blood cells since they look like a DNA structure for me.

1655399031860.png

Shimin-Li is made out of metal and it has a connector of 2-pin. Since the IEM is built of metal. and it is prone to smudges and fingerprints. The vent is noticeable in the iem making it look like a damaged iem.

Packaging and Accessories.
1655399097503.png

I am surprised since the unboxing feel so special for me it's like I am getting my own personalized loot box. Speaking of loot box this has a wide variety of ear tips. it has 6-pair ear tips including the stock ear tips. the included cable is very nice it is very durable and feels very premium.

Cable
1655399173384.png

The stock cable of Shimin-Li. feels premium and durable. this is my first experience with this kind of cable and one of the best cables that I had tested. For its price, the cable is a great match to the shimin-li.

Sound and Sound signature

This pair has a wide variety kind of sound signatures since this pair sounds based on the source. For me, this pair is neutral-bright and U-shaped. I tested the pair with OPPO A95 and the output was U-shaped while in my other sources it's neutral-bright.

Lows
The bass of shimin-li reminds me of kc2 they both sound tight and punchy. but shimin-li has more body and attack but it's not a V-shape kind of bass. For smartphone users, if you you are a U-shaped kind of listener it can please you. since the bass of shimin-li has an emphasis on mid-bass in some sources. but for me, the emphasis on mid-bass happens in my OPPO A95 but even though it has an emphasis on mid-bass. it does not give the bloat and the warmth in the mid-bass is very satisfying. In my other sources, the bass has that great oomph and mid-bass warmth. making male vocals sounds textured and detailed. This has a great sub-bass presence making the drums have power and quality.

Mids
This is also the skill of kc2 but this is where shimin-li might lose. Both kc2 and shimin-li deliver great mids. Shimin-li has forwarded vocals same with kc2 but for me. kc2 has more advantages since kc2 has more depth in vocals. the clarity in vocals they both deliver a great presentation of vocals. Since the shimin-li has forwarded vocals. sometimes the instruments are less emphasized. while in kc2 both instrument and vocals are well presented in the track.

Highs
The shimin-li has bright highs while the kc2 is safe for ears that can't handle the higher frequencies. I read a review that the highs of the shimin-li are dark. but for me the highs of shimin-li are natural but it lacks details and air and this is where kc2 fights back. kc2 has more details and air. both deliver great natural extension making the vocals and instruments sound realistic. but kc2 has more advantages since the kc2 has a more realistic extension. while the shimin-li has a realistic extension. In short kc2 for air and details shimin-li for a feel of a studio feel.

Soundstage, Imaging, and separation
The shimin-li has a great soundstage it has a feel of a live concert but kc2 is wider with high depth. the imaging in shimin-li is great it can handle a very busy track. and still, make the instruments shine even if it's congested. kc2 wins in imaging since even on the very busy track it still locates the instruments precisely. as a former violinist kc2 is better. personally when it comes to soundstage and imaging kc2 will be my pick. both shimin-li deliver great separation but kc2 wins. shimin-li is not that bad at separation but kc2 has more edge.

Comparison
Moondrop Aria Vs Shimin Li
Both are neutral tuning. they have both bass performances but shimin-li. has better bass punch compared to moondrop aria. When it comes to mids. Shimin-li is much more forwarded and fuller compared to moondrop aria. Moondrop aria has dry mids for my liking and is a bit recessed. When it comes to highs. Shimin-li is much better than an aria. Shimin-li has air and sparkle while moondrop aria has no air and only a bit of sparkle. In general, Shimin-li is better but I am not saying that the Moondrop Aria is a bad set. But for me, Shimin-li beats Moondrop Aria

1655399449073.png

Final Remarks
The shimin-li reminds me of Eiko and kongming. since it has expressive vocals which are like Eiko she is expressive when she sings. while Kongming is more strategic and futuristic. which makes the Shimin-li an expressive and futuristic type of IEM because of how I feel about the pair. and how I like it. since I am an anime lover I can say that this pair is well suited to the music type of anime. The shimin-li has Villian Vibes. For me, this rivals the kc2 and it's a good fight between the kc2 and shimin-li. for more technical aspects kc2 but for casual shimin-li. This is indeed a good pair for its price and can compete in this price range.

Closing
I would like to thank TangZu Audio for letting me experience the tour in shimin-li. and thanks for the discount I appreciated it very much. more power to your company.

Thanks for this review. I will give them 7.8/10, reason being: good accessories and very good workmanship for the price. For 30 dollars these are ok. Nothing more, nothing less. I have to say I quite like Shimin Li and it darkish and misterious neutral tuning.

Awesome review. Quick one with the current IEMs releases winning at both ends would you still consider shimin li a fight against them basically in the area of macro-detail and imaging?

KZ EDA: Dynamic Trio from KZ: Balanced Edition.
Pros: Great tuned U-Shape sound signature.
Soft stock ear tips and it's very flexible.
Great Bass presentation and it has control.
comfortable fit.
The cable is great it's soft and light.
No sibilance
Great technical performance for its price range.
For the price of this pair, you are getting 3 pairs.
Cons: One cable for the three pairs. I wish that the included was three cables.
Stock ear tips have a hint of a peak in sibilant prone tracks.
Case for the three pairs(personal choice)
QDC-2pin connector(personal choice)
The KZ EDA is the new release from Knowledge Zenith and one of the surprise releases of KZ. Many thought that KZ is joking since KZ released the photos of the EDA with three pairs in the package. After looking at the KZ EDA, my first impression of it based on the photos that KZ released, was a joke for April Fool.
The KZ EDA is also one of the first to have triple pairs for its price range since you have three pairs for the price of one. The set consists of three sound signatures first is the Bass version, and the Second is Balance. The third and final set is a Hi-Res version or can be also called the treble version.

Disclaimer. I would like to thank sir Tyvan Lam and KZ ACOUSTICS for lending their trust and letting me review the KZ EDA. Rest assured that this review will be honest. No monetary compensation was gained before and after doing this written review. My reviews are all based on my hearing and preferences so expect different opinions. I am a former musician and have experience with the violin for around 3 years. We have different opinions and preferences, so always take my reviews with a bit of real talk.

Package and Presentation
The box has the three pairs presented in the picture of the box and also this is my first time seeing these new looks of KZ. In the Box, it has three pairs and a set of ear tips, and a cable, but its only one cable for the three pairs.

Design and Durability
The design reminds me of the YouTube play button since the shell somewhat resembles it. The colors of the three pairs it has white silver for the balanced version, Cyan for the HI-RES version. followed by the Bass version which has the colorway of Gold. The three pairs are made out of plastic resin, The plastic resin is very common these days. The build quality is decent but still prone to breakage since it's only plastic resin.

Fit and Isolation
it's very comfortable in my ears and I didn't encounter any problems wearing it also it's very light in my ears. I have been using it for my daily sessions with these pairs it feels like I am not wearing IEM in my ears. The pair has a little bit of sound leakage but to tell you the truth it's not that noticeable. The pair goes deep in my ears and even though it goes deep it still has space for my ears to breathe.

Sound Signature
The KZ EDA has a U-Shaped kind of signature(V-Shaped in other sources). The KZ EDA has three different tunings and different emphases, but, I like the Balanced more. since it gives a very great technical aspect and mid-range performance for its price. For this review, my main focus will be the Balanced version since it's the first one that caught my attention. other versions of the EDA will be next.

Lows
The lows have great texture it's controlled by being bodied it gives great quality. Sub-bass is more prominent and it has great attack and decay. Mid-bass is great it does not being too much emphasis on the track. even though this is balanced, the bass adapts to wide kinds of tracks.

Mids
The mids are recessed but only a bit, it is still forwarded. The vocals are great but it depends on the way how they are arranged Male vocals are great, but it's not that thick. The upper midrange has a great extension with clarity, air, and sparkle and KZ surprised me here. Because I am expecting more peak and sibilance but here I didn't hear any.

Highs
The highs have a great extension giving it great brilliance in the upper mids. It also has great detail retrieval and I was surprised because it's not your typical KZ in-house sound. The typical KZ in-house sound is giving too much brilliance in the upper mids and too much emphasis in 4k and 8k. I can say that this pair is safe for sensitive ears.

Soundstage, Imaging, and separation
The soundstage, it's wide but not that deep. The imaging is great the instruments and vocals are colored not dark sounding. The separation is great it is well separated for its price range.

Timbre
I like how the instruments are well presented here, it is organic, not artificial. Violin and Piano sound so organic I can feel the real instruments in my ears. Drums and cymbals are great I can feel the attack and punch from them.

Drivability and response to sources.
The pair is easy to drive and any source can drive it to its full potential. the pair has a great response to any kind of source even a smartphone. The pair can adapt the power coming from the USB-DAC and smartphone.

Recommendations
Stock ear tips of the pair are good but have a hint of sibilance in sibilance-prone tracks. I am using a wide bore ear tip and it removes the sibilance and peak.
As much as possible when removing the cables, please be gentle since it's prone to wear and tear.
Verdict

KZ is showing us that they are coming back and this time it shows that this is their revival arc. I am amazed by KZ since they are now improving and it shows in the KZ EDA.

The origin:
I remembered that this pair was a gift to me, by my classmate. this pair was hype back then. at that time I am not an audio hobbyist and at that time I also used the pair at a max volume for daily listening.

Disclaimer:
I am a former musician. the instrument that I played is the violin, my experience with the violin is only 3 years.
I am not a professional reviewer, I am just an audio hobbyist who loves the audio hobby.
I am not a sponsored or influencer and what I say is based on my experience and hearing.
The unit I have is my unit which I got from my classmate as a gift.

Sound
Disclaimer
I only found this pair in my bag, and the filter is gone from the pair and except that my impressions may be different.

Lows/bass
Before I shift from neutral-balanced to mid-centric I was a V-Shape fan to the point that I want excessive bass, the pair itself has aggressive bass and it's very punchy with being impactful.
The sub-bass has a very deep rumble. bass-heads will like the bass of these pair since the sub-bass has punch and rumble.
In the seven nation army, you can hear how prominent the sub-bass is in the track.
The mid-bass is good it's punchy and very thick. but I want to say that the mid-bass is boosted and feels artificial. honestly, it's not that bad considering it boosted it's still fun and good enough for bass heads.

Mids
As a mid-centric kind of listener. this pair has recessed mids, as a former musician the mids are not good, instruments have their presence but vocals are recessed. for casual listeners, it's good enough but for mid-centric listeners, this might not suit your taste.

Highs.
With a proper source and volume, the sibilance only depends on volume and power output. with my OPPO A95 paired with Abigail USB-DAC and UAPP, I only encounter sibilance when I increased the volume. Highs also have uneven quality, sometimes it lacks and sometimes it's good. Highs extension is decent but for my liking, it still lacks a bit of extension and clarity.

Technicalities
Detail retrieval in this pair has more macro details and a few micro details, honestly, if you're not a technical listener then you are good with the data retrieval of these pairs.

The soundstage in this pair is wide and has space but not that big and it feels cramped in one place.

Separation It's passable for my liking. it separates instruments and vocals, it's good for casual listening and separation is not that detailed it lacks transparency and clarity.

Imaging. It's passable for casual listeners, but for me, it still lacks a bit of color and clarity and it sounds a bit dark.

Verdict
The KZ ZST pro is a good pair back then. but with the improvements in the hi-fi industry, for the price of these pair. there are other options in the market, it's not bad only the price and durability.

Opening
The KBEAR Larks is an IEM that is a budget hybrid setup. this IEM reminds me of Guilty Crown and if you're wondering what is Guilty Crown it's an Anime that I love. This is also my first time encountering the name KBEAR. I only know them through some reviewers and videos.
This pair is special to me, even though it's not my unit. the reason why is that it makes me happy that I am getting compliments from other people anyways let's start the review and I know that many of you want to know the sound of this pair.

Build quality, design, and comfort.
The pair itself is made of plastic resin with a metal faceplate I can say that it's well built, in terms of the connector type, the pair is very sturdy and tight. in my ears, it's very comfortable and it goes deep giving me a better seal and fit with maximize sound isolation. The design reminds me of the guilty crown because it resembles the scene where the main character uses his power to unleash weapons.

Sound signature.
The pair itself is a V-shaped type of tuning and has a hint of being bright, this pair has controlled sub-bass and mid-bass with being punchy and prominent in the track

Lows
Lows in this pair are very punchy and have an attack that bass-heads will like, sub-bass extension is very deep and has an impactful punch which is very prominent in the tracks. Mid-bass is very clean it didn't bleed in other frequencies also mid-bass is very deep and has an attack with being controlled. Instruments like bass guitar and drums it's very impactful and has an attack.

Mids
Mids in this pair are too recessed, even it's recessed I find the vocals to have extension and presence in the track. male vocals have more note weight while female vocals have their openness and clarity but lack body. both genders deliver clean. presentation with definition. In terms of the presentation of the mids, it's more like vocals in the back and instruments in front.

Highs
Highs in this pair are decent and treble needs more refinement since it has an unbalanced quality and leads to being sibilant, cymbals have their presence in the track and it's only decent. Air and sparkle have a decent extension. Violin has decent extension it has clarity and sparkle, but the sounding of the violin feels boosted and making it artificial not realistic.

Technicalities.
This pair is not a technical pair, but it still delivers technical aspects. The soundstage in this pair feels like you in a small room and honestly, it's pretty small for my liking. Separation in this pair is decent it still separates instruments and vocals just fine. layering is decent it still has the right placements for instruments. In terms of details, it's more in macro details rather than micro details. micro details shine a bit and have their presence but only minimal.

My Personal Sound preference:
🎧

As a former musician, I want the instruments to be very clean and precise in general terms, I am a mid-centric guy with being forwarded in the track without being too bright and too boomy or bloated.

Anyone ever figure out what that parenthesis is supposed to mean in "Microphone Support (Available in non-exclusive mode)"?
