Pros: Decent sound, good comfort
Cons: Heavy and bulky
Worse then HD600, HD650, AKG 701, Ultrasone 780, HD595..So theres better. Its good for the price...Anything above 150 is getting very high.

I'm not the biggest fan of the M50, but I think your comparisons are a bit unfair to be honest. The ones you listed are either open, much more expensive and/or discontinued. Plus your review is just plain empty.

Pros: Polite headphones
Cons: Lacking bass
Only 3 headphones in my collection are better thank HD595: AKG-Q701, HD600, HD650.

Compared to HD595 For sound AKG-Q701 is a superior buy for the price. It has good comfort and decent fit and finish.

All open Senn headphones have Superior comfort, fit and finish. Althought the HD595 is a step down in sound from the AKG-Q701 it has everything else beat.

But I would say if you have 200 bucks, get the AKG-Q701. For the price, I have to admit the AKG are a fantastic value. Spending anything more, get the HD600 series. The Q701 is $250 bucks for HD600 series sound.

I have not heard a better system than the one I currently have (budget reasons, but am attending a meet soon!).

I am using HD 595s with a uDac 2 and I agree that they lacking bass. I also have had issues with sibilance. Who knows if this is the phones or something else in my chain.

I equalize, and with a boost to the low end and a dip at 8K, both of these problems are solved to my satisfaction. Again, maybe this isn't valuable since I may not know what I'm missing :)

However, I CAN talk about the comfort of these headphones. I have had these for about 4 years. I am so used to wearing them that I put them on when I'm at the computer regardless of whether I'm listening to something or not. They go around year and rest on your head instead of resting on your ear, and I can (and have) worn them for 24 hours straight. They're amazing in this regard.

Pros: Excellent Sound...no noise in quiet parts of songs, no cracks of music,
Cons: Wish had more extension out of box, but thats what opamps are for
Wish I had something to compare to. Had an audigy 2 for years and thought extension was better in treble. But Audigy 2 does not have a headphone amp and cannot push the HD650 properly. Not even sure it can push the AKG Q701. The HD600 with the audigy 2 are fantastic since HD600 does not need a headphone amp. I am a pretend to be audiophile since I have a limited budget.

Althought I do have tons of headphones: I ripped all music to wav file using EAC. I feel at times I need a headphone tube amp to improve sound. When I tested my STX against a Sony 400 disc CDplayer to receiver, both sounded exactly the same. So I stuck with the STX and ripped the CD collection to WAV.

As it turns out, the Audigy2 headphone amplifier is actually part of the Creative Laboratories® SB0250 I/O Drive (a 5-1/4" half-height accessory with Mic2/Line2 In, Aux2 In, TOSLINK and RCA coax digital I/O, and mini-DIN5's for MIDI In and Out), rather than on the SB0240 or SB0350 main card. The XONAR ST/X/II's Texas Instruments® TPA6120A2 headphone amplifier is on-card.

Pros: Forward vocal presentation-Great for Movies, TV and good for Games
Cons: Not the most musical
It is a decent pair of headphones. Nice comfort, good to very good design and quality. Outstanding for Movies with forward vocals but theres better out there for musical.

Adding to this. I was on ultrasone website and it does say tuned for movies and games. This is a Fantastic pair for games and movies. But it is lacking for music. If you need a great pair to watch tv this is it.

I concur.

For example - "Alien: Isolation" is, at points, ultra-terrifying because of this headphone (with nice in-between DAC/Amp processing, as well). You can very realistically hear the Alien "thud" to the floor in an adjacent room and proceed to move around, trying to sniff you out. Creepy.

Pros: Most Musical, Sennheisers most comfortable, need amp, great treble extension, very nice bass--Thanks for Correction folks..It does need an amp.
Cons: None can think of. Best of all my headphones
Most Musical and enjoyable, Sennheisers most comfortable, Does not need amp, great treble extension paired with correct source, very nice bass.

Out of all my cans this is best overall and most enjoyable sound. The HD650 right there but it does have a diffrent sound. I would say Q701 are a great headphone but missing bass.

Have: Grado Sr-60, HD555, HD595, HD600, HD650, ATM-50S, Ultrasone HFI 780, AKG Q701, Bose QC15
Had: Grado Sr-80

Worst headphones: Grado SR-80 and HD555(tried twice)

I am sure the $1000+ headphones are better paired with a great amp but this is what I have.

The Sennheiser are by far the best brand with combo of great fit, great finish, great comfort, great style, and great sound.
I started with Sr-60 and  wanted to go up with higher models with the Grado but the comfort is terrible. Bowls or Pads. Grado has great sound but after years of wearing them and then trying other headphones. I could never wear grado's again for more than 2 hrs at most every couple of months.

I use an STX and Audigy 2 sound card.

The cheapest budget amp to pair up with HD600 is FiiO E12 at high gain, lush!

your right, It does need an amp. But compared to HD650..you can go without it and it sounds reasonable. The HD650 sounds like mud without an amp. But overall it does need an amp.

Pros: Best pair I have at this point
Cons: Thinking of upgrading AMP...Using STX currently---Now using dark voice connected to STX
Use to think the HD600 was the best. When connected to my Asus STX  it is better then the HD650. (March 16, 2017 update)

Then I bought a Dark Voice headphone tube amp from Mass Drop. The dark voice is so much better with the HD650. Rolled a few tubes and the HD650 sounds excellent. The HD650 really does scale with your equipment. I do not even listen to the HD600 any more. With the dark voice the HD650 is smooth and crystal clear but you also know you are using an analog sound. There is no "dark veil" with the dark voice.

I have:
SR-60, Sr-80, HD555, HD595, HD600, HD650, AKG Q701, Bose QC 15, ATM-50S, Ultrasone HFI-780.
Least favorite: HD555 (boring and Muddy) and Ultrasone 780 (Sharp and shrill-Maybe needs more break in)
