HiBy Digital M300 Android Digital Audio Player,"The Gen-Z Music Player" - Discussion thread

It's not odd to request an older version of the firmware. In rare cases, people may want to roll back if a new version has bugs or unwanted changes. In my case, there was an issue with the very first version that limited the touchtone to 48Khz when turned on. This is a bit of a special case...

HiBy Digital M300 Android Digital Audio Player,"The Gen-Z Music Player" - Discussion thread

Your review of the M300 and the boot.img/fastboot Rom was the deciding factor in my purchase of the M300, thank you very much. I purchased the M300 and am waiting for it to ship. Since Hiby doesn't offer previous firmware directly, I think I need a backup of the previous version. Can you help...

USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best

In my test, PD6 power consumed in use - 250-350mw / idel 120-170mw I'm starting to suspect that your PD6 is different from mine. Maybe a part or configuration change?

USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best

I'm not sure what you mean by harsh, I honestly don't notice much difference in sound between the dongles. I don't use headphones, just IEMs. I've never found any dongle to sound harsh, and the Dawn pro is one of my favorites in terms of sound and form factor, other than power consumption...

USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best

Oh, no need to apologize at all, the PD6 is still a good dongle, small and with good sound. Your list of dongle power was very helpful to me. I will be purchasing some of the dongles you mentioned soon. The dongles I've tried so far include Periodic Rhodium, Apple USB-C Dongle, Jcally JM10...

USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best

Thank you for your recommendation! I received the Aklaim PD6 today and tested it out, and I love both the small form factor and the sound. The only disappointment is that the battery drain is higher than expected, even when not playing anything and not plugging in headphones. It consumed about...

USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best

OMG... This is really useful! Thank you so much! I've always been looking for a DAC that consumes little or no power in standby mode so always connected to my smartphone. I have purchased the Aklaim PD6 first based on your organized table. I am also considering purchasing the iBasso DC02 as it...

[FiiO UTWS5] True Wireless Bluetooth Earhooks as Usual,Coupled with Independent AK4332 DAC

I wondered about this question myself, so I tested it out. It doesn't appear to have any impact at all.

iFi audio GO pod + IEMs = brilliant wireless sound on the GO!

I totally agree that it should support ambient sound mode too. Even if it doesn't have to be a particularly powerful ambient sound mode, I'd be happy with just enough so that I don't have to take my Go Pod out when I simply need to talk to other people.

[FiiO UTWS5] True Wireless Bluetooth Earhooks as Usual,Coupled with Independent AK4332 DAC

I solved the same problem as follows 1. install every firmware version I've ever used once, and in each version, do a factory reset by pressing and holding the button on the case. 2. then install the last firmware version I want to use (version 1.5 seems to be the most stable, unless you prefer...

[FiiO UTWS5] True Wireless Bluetooth Earhooks as Usual,Coupled with Independent AK4332 DAC

Today I installed the QCNFA765 chipset for LDAC 909/990Kbps on my PC. After testing, it works perfectly. If you have a motherboard/laptop with a non-CNVi M.2 E-key slot, you can buy it for less than $20 and install it easily. Now if only the transparency mode issue is fixed, the UTWS5 is the...

[FiiO UTWS5] True Wireless Bluetooth Earhooks as Usual,Coupled with Independent AK4332 DAC

My current Samsung smartphone is a Galaxy Flip 1st generation, so it's a bit older. I've had issues with other LDAC products (Anker's codeless, Fiio BTR3k, Hiby WU1, QCC5125 Bluetooth Cable etc..) that aren't UTWS5, such as sound cutting out when the screen is on, or cutting out when location...

[FiiO UTWS5] True Wireless Bluetooth Earhooks as Usual,Coupled with Independent AK4332 DAC

In my case, I tested it on a Realme 9 5g speed, Nothing 1 and 2, and a Motorola Edge 30, and 990Kbps worked fine for at least 4-5 hours. I bought the cheapest of these, a Realme, for the transmitter. iFi go pod has similar limitations, so I don't know why only the UTWS5 doesn't work well with...

[FiiO UTWS5] True Wireless Bluetooth Earhooks as Usual,Coupled with Independent AK4332 DAC

@FiiO Have you reported an issue with Ambient Mode? In very rare cases, the volume in Ambient Mode can be loud enough when playing certain codecs and sound sources, but in most situations, the volume is too low to make this feature meaningful. As someone who uses UTWS5 all day, it's a pain to...

[FiiO UTWS5] True Wireless Bluetooth Earhooks as Usual,Coupled with Independent AK4332 DAC

Maybe it works only 660kbps. I bought a new cheap smartphone with snapdragon sound support for 990kbps and it works without problems. (Realme 9 5G SE) 990khz should work fine on 778G, 780G, 888, 7 Gen 1, 8 Gen 1, 8 Gen2 processors.

[FiiO UTWS5] True Wireless Bluetooth Earhooks as Usual,Coupled with Independent AK4332 DAC

Thank you for your proactive updates. However, the volume of transparency mode is still too small compared to the 1.5 version. I would really appreciate if you could fix it.

[FiiO UTWS5] True Wireless Bluetooth Earhooks as Usual,Coupled with Independent AK4332 DAC

@FiiO I think most of the critical issues have been resolved since version 1.73. My only complaint is that the volume in transparency mode is still too low compared to 1.5. Can I ask you to fix that issue? -- Additional For those who are still having issues after the 1.73 update, I leave...

http://fiio-firmware.fiio.net/UTWS5/UTWS5_dfu_v1.73.bin It hasn't been released directly by Fiio yet, so I can't be sure it's a safe firmware. However, in my case, it solved the problem of connecting to my smartphone when fully charged. The issues that are not yet resolved are 1. the ambient...

[FiiO UTWS5] True Wireless Bluetooth Earhooks as Usual,Coupled with Independent AK4332 DAC

When I took the UTWS5 out of the case, the reason it wouldn't power on seemed to be that it would power off at idle time after connecting with the smartphone despite being in the case. In the end, the issue of powering on and connecting with the smartphone when in the case seems to be the cause...

[FiiO UTWS5] True Wireless Bluetooth Earhooks as Usual,Coupled with Independent AK4332 DAC

In my case, it solved. I've been using it for 2 days now with no issues. However, some people report that the symptoms persist in 1.5, so I can't be sure.

[FiiO UTWS5] True Wireless Bluetooth Earhooks as Usual,Coupled with Independent AK4332 DAC

I did a bunch of tests to see if it would connect to the smartphone when it was in the case. 1. In versions 1.4 and 1.71, the left and right earhooks connect to the smartphone as soon as charging is complete. 2. If you upgrade from 1.4 to 1.5, or downgrade from 1.71 to 1.5, the symptom is also...
