634EARS: Impressions, Discussions, and Appreciations Thread
I don't blame him for the delay of posts, he is quite literally a one man army handling everything himself. Its genuinely impressive when you think about it because I for the life of me couldn't do that to the scale he's working at haha.- AsciiJC

Earbuds Round-Up
Quick impressions from me on the Lrey Protheus, which uses a custom 80ohm driver according to Lrey with a balanced sound. However, despite being labelled balanced I hear it to be a balanced V shape but I can see where he would get that idea. I am using a Hiby m300, Questyle m15, vesper audio...- AsciiJC

planar driver clinking
Closed back planars typically do this from pressure of air in the cups. Its nothing to worry about. It should only be a worry if you hear clicks when there is cracking when sound plays. Does this happen?- AsciiJC

FOSTEX T50RPmk4 RP
I wonder if this will bring out some of the modders again! I would love to play with these if I get the chance. Mainly listen to it thou, of course. Love the QoL changes done to make it much ncier I don't think that was a necessary comment in a thread that has nothing to do with it. Lets keep...- AsciiJC

NEW Brise Audio FUGAKU - The world's first Ultimate Portable Audio System
I can see what you mean by that, but due to the structure of the Fugaku and earphones with the system will not work. I am not an earphone amp expert, but I do know two seperate channels to work in one is a pretty complex thing to get working in such a small space with the addition of the mems...- AsciiJC

Home-Made IEMs
Heya all, I wanted to ask something about resin and services. I am trying to find one that can provide a resin for nozzles that will be skin safe and durable. I have made a model already for myself to prototype with, but I cant really find the right one who will do just shells. I dont really...- AsciiJC

Look! MOONDROP's First HiFi Smartphone, MIAD01
After seeing the specs, doesn't appear to get regulatory approval for the EU. Which, to me, defeats the purpose of me buying one.- AsciiJC

Look! MOONDROP's First HiFi Smartphone, MIAD01
Does this have 5G outside of China? I know some are locked to just that region and I would like to make sure this isn't one of them so I can pick one up myself.- AsciiJC

Show us your vintage headphones!
Saved these bad boys! Had to remove the foam cover and spend about 20 minutes removing foam since it was all over the place. Will possibly mod because its quite shouty, but I absolutely love how these sound already. Used aftermarket lambskins.- AsciiJC

TiTum Audio - "Our Headphone Can Become Any Headphone"
I would love to hear these myself, but with some very, very bold claims from the company without a company history or wide spread information on how this is done, is going to of course make a lot of people weary. I am willing to give them a go, but with various acoustic engineers seeing this...- AsciiJC

Earbuds Round-Up
Now we just need a Shanling earbud  Jokes aside, its nice to see youre liking them! Theyre supposed to be releasing new models (yinman) in the future but I am unsure how that is going to happen. Either way, great choice and love to see others pop in for buds!- AsciiJC

Nope, its the same driver with a resistor behind it haha. Better tuning but the cable is awful. Very microphonic and stiff.- AsciiJC

Earbuds Round-Up
Ohhhhhhh nononono, don't do that. The short answer for why you shouldnt do that is because it will fry and damage your Dawn Pro. The long answer is a scientific one about balanced and un balanced connections. There are adapters that exist, but they are all dodgy in some way. I would genuinely...- AsciiJC

Earbuds Round-Up
There's a lot of confusion in regards to how to wire and use plugs for adapters. 3.5mm to 4.4mm is dangerous which can cause shorts in a balanced source, but a 4.4mm to 3.5mm is perfectly safe. Edit: wait do you want to go 3.5mm plug in then 4.4mm plug out? I am a little confused by your...- AsciiJC

Sponsors essentially have much more free reign over what they can say and do with their own stuff, as long as they aren't attacking or genuinely hurting the forum. Sponsors have to pay up to get this ability, MoT don't pay.- AsciiJC

The Headphone Driver Pics Thread
They have a pivot at a small angle, and they bend further back depending on your ear size. It does stay in contact with them so its like an on over ear. Ill record when I get the chance.- AsciiJC

The Headphone Driver Pics Thread
One of the more lesser known Sony's, the MA300! Going to recable this soon, so expect some better photo's later Its a very unique sony because despite how rare they are to find usually, they never took off. I find them cool due to the ability to bend around your earshape.- AsciiJC
