I think the 40mu is correct, the same as C3G. I use both as driver and power tubes. They sound fantastic and one of my favorite combinations. Contact Mrs X before she closes her store on eBay at the end of this month.

I would love to hear these 2 great amps side by side, the McChanson Super UltimatE and the Aegis. They use very similar tubes, the UltimatE sounds awesome with ZMF headphones.

I did everything, adjusted, reinserted and plugged in 4 different tubes. No sound came out and all the tubes were not even lit up, the adapter was a dud.

You jinxed us Matt :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:, just kidding. I was so excited to receive my adapters from Mrs X, so I can run the Sakuma style on EL3N. Unfortunately, 1 of the adapters died on arrival. I emailed her and hopefully will receive the replacement...

Those adapters are made by @g0ldl10n for me. He did an amazing job, they fit securely and look fantastic. I have always used the test points whenever new power tubes show up. Safety is always first.

My adapters have arrived and here with EL11s. The El11s sound very similar to the EL3Ns. Full, clear and a bit warm, the vocal is a tad behind EL3N, and likes sitting in the second row instead of the first row.

Eric is a Brilliant Master Builder of amps. The UltimatE became my favorite amp until the arrival of my SupremE.

I am not sure my EL3N made by Tungstam. Just my guess, bought from France. It sounds very clear and full with the UltimatE.

The ones with adapters, I believe, were made by Tungsram. They both sound very similar. I am waiting for extra adapters to try the Sakuma style. I have not listened to both types of the Telefunken EL3N. They have become rare and expensive.

Yes, I got them from Mrs X. You need to email her on Ebay and request her to make them for you. She made 2 pairs for me, one for the 6J5 sockets and the other for the 6V6 sockets.

Do not forget this tube, RCA 6BG6G black plate. It has a low mu, but pairs with a Japanese TEN 12AX7 long plate. They produce a very smooth, silky and warm sound to your ears. Very good for jazz or slow music.

My pair is Amperex, made in Gr Britain. It also has double O getters, the code is B3A3. I believe it was made by Mullard.
